JBL, if i insulted you, it was not meant like that. i was just giving my stance on the opinions of what you and the other guy said without malice. as for the comment on what james said about your username, i just agreed that you were apparently a fan of the new stuff more than the old. no harm was intended. i apologize if you felt that i was insulting you. i understand completely what you guys are saying and you make very excellent points. i just look at it from a different angle. my angle is that it is called a "fanfest", not a "promotorfest". the fans are what the show is to be for and about the wrestlers. i understand that the promotors of events like these need to make as much profit as possible, but what i was getting at was that the fans win more when the stars take time and treat us as equals and not as a bunch of "ankle grabbers" they are trying to kick away. some of the wrestlers do spend time with fans. but i would bet that piper would be so mobbed, that he would barely have the patience for the autograph signing alone, much less any other interaction. because he would be MOBBED. what good is a guest that is mobbed and has gotten an attitude because he can't even get to the john without being approached? i'm just speculating anyway. i could be wrong. the promotor does need to make his share. i'm just saying that i would hate to lose the accessability to the rest for the sake of one. that's my opinion.

JBL this is really not a fight you want to pick. I posted a "two sentence reply" because your screen name along with the content of your post leads one to believe you are a fan more of todays "sports entertainment" than old school. I myself am a fan of both. I never said there was anything inherently wrong with being a fan of either. Your attitude regarding the fanfests and what one wrestler costs or draws vs another is really meaningless. As to what you personally would rather see...sure thats what Greg initially asked so thats cool. But to just dismiss anything you deem to expensive so you can get who you want is ludicrous. Greg is a big boy and he will do what he can within financial limitations. He doesnt need you telling him to have or not have a video room. As to you tearing me apart with logic.....IM right here. The AOL IM is SuperDFan. GIve it your best shot but dont get your hopes up. OH and as to me not wanting or wanting someone there because he would or wouldnt play pool with me? What in the hell are you even talking about? I never even thought about a game of pool in the Hilton so Im lost. No doubt its your superior logic kicking in again. Or could be....that you dont know what the hell your talking about.

The main thing I see is this. These are "Mid Atlantic" fan fests, not "the greatest in wrestling of all time" Fan Fests. That means we're talking about a specific time period and a specific area. There's nothing wrong with doing a Fanfest with modern guys, but that isn't what the MACW Fan Fests are about. It's about bringing back memories of those we can't see on tv every week whom were stars in the Mid-Atlantic region. I sure wouldn't expect Nikita Kolloff or Ron Garvin at a "Mid-South Wrestling" Fan Fest,
It is tough to draw more than the TRUE hardcores for these events so often in the same area. It's obvious that Greg truly loves promoting these events, since he continues to do them despite dissapointing turnouts for the last two. Hopefully the next FanFest will have a strong turnout. I think adding wrestling matches would help in that regard,

Look this is not about me or you all it is about Greg's Fanfest. I guess it's hard to understand what each person means and I and a few of us are getting hotheaded over nothing. What I meant as far as RVD and the such was putting them at their own booth , or NWATNA guys at their own both. Like Sherri or David Flair had their own table. I know they aren't Mid-atlantic stars , but maybe if 100 WWE fans bought tickets just to meet RVD than that's 100 more tickets sold. Also , with Greg cutting back the number of guests I would assume he's looking at cutting corners. Now me saying cut the video room and the room with the ring in it is not me trying to "run the show". I was just pointing out that both these ideas were cool but "saving money wise" it was something I would rather do without if it means making the whole weekend a little easier on Greg's wallet. I went to the last one to meet Harley and The Briscos , I went to the second to meet Sting and Foley. The first one was amazing but I agree that there is only so many times you can meet RNR's and Steamboat , and not wish for others to be there you haven't met before. Again , not an insult. But in todays wrestling HHH is always coming out on top , so it gets stale. I really just want to meet more legends...

I agree with those who say that for those of us who have been to most of these things, the excitement isn't what it once was to see some of the same guys over and over but they should definitely still be there. Those guys are the heart & soul of Mid-Atlantic which is what the Fanfest is labelled. So to that end I can somewhat buy into the "big name" theory. Simply put, I think that if and when Ric Flair can ever appear at one of these things, it will be a huge success. Anyone else I don't think will draw that much interest.
I don't know if the issues are financial, WWF political, or just a scheduling thing... but having this thing SummerSlam weekend means there's no house show on Saturday, right? So unless the PPV is going to be on the West Coast, there may be hope Flair could make it.
I think there needs to be a "big/special" name guy each day to guarantee that Sunday isn't a big let down from Sat. Maybe a Piper would be a good Sunday guest to keep people around after seeing Flair on Sat. I know this is total pie-in-the-sky but I feel this would be the most successful lineup.
Anyway, others I'd like to see... Jim Cornette, Barry Windham, Superstar Graham (who I'm sure would have the time of his life), Kevin Sullivan, Mike Rotunda.

It cost me a WHOLE lot of money to go last time. I would love to go again, but Rock N Roll Express would surely have to be on the guest list if I do.

Tim: I'll always keep asking the "Nature Boy" every time. Hopefully one of these days, he'll be able to say yes. As far as your idea for Sunday, I'm working very hard on that "big/special" name guy who, incidentally, is a non-Mid-Atlantic legend but DEFINITELY a legend for all ages!

I think the Fanfest is awesome if we have 40 wrestlers or just 10.......To me, it's all about memories of these wrestlers that can never be taken away by Vince....It also brings a smile to my face to see the guys here on the boards...So to me, that's what makes it so great.........BTW, it's great to be back, i've been away way to long...........
Those i'd like to see
BARRY WINDHAM Gary Hart Barbarian Manny Fernandez (hope i don't get heat for wanting him there but he was there when wrestling was great....wonderful memories) Superstar Billy Graham Angelo Mosca, Jr.
I certainly can't complain with the wrestlers that have been to the Fanfest in the past, i feel Greg has done an awesome job of selection...

what about the Iron Sheik? He was Mid Atlantic Champion for a while. Is there any possibility to getting the Iron Sheik for Fanfest?
