Thursday Oct. 31st 1991- I saw my Dad leave to go to work for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department, not knowing it would be the last time I would ever see him again. He was proud of his new job he got with the help of Johnny Weaver, and Al Mandel- God Bless. I know though his heart was broken, because 10 months earlier the thing he loved and devoted his life to he had to leave. Wrestling was all he knew. It is very fortunate that we can publicly have a place to keep our heroes alive. Thank you Greg Price, Dick Bourne of the Mid-atlantic Gateway, and George South for honoring all of our heroes. That special "something" few people possess and what they achieved in life- will echo for eternity. I love you Dad - Brad

Brad, I thought about Gene today. I knew it was the anniversary of his passing. I loved Gene very much - he was such a good friend, and I still miss him to this day! But he holds a special place in my heart - a place full of friendship, good memories, and remembering and laughing about all the practical jokes he pulled on me and on others over the years. I know that he is gone, but he is definitely not forgotten.

It seems like yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom, and family today. I know anniversaries like this are difficult, no matter how much time has passed. I am honored to have known your Dad and to see for myself what a kind and gentle person he was outside of the ring. I know you know too, Brad, that he was very proud of you.

Brad, I miss your dad almost as much as you do. He was a great wrestler, friend, confidant and traveling companion. I see him every day though, in the picture of me interviewing him on the set of World Wide Wrestling. It's on my computer's screen saver.

Hi Brad, Peggy, Greg and Rich....God bless all of you guys. Gene was a wonderful guy that I also miss very much. I first met Gene when he was still working for Verne, before coming to Charlotte. A very long time ago. Not only was he all that you guys said about him, he had a great mind for the business. I consider myself lucky to have been associated with him. He'll live in our collective hearts forever. SOH.

amen to that. when i was young, saw some wrestling on the tv. first thing i saw was wahoo and johnny valentine fight all over WGHP. but the first thing that stayed in my mind and made me love this business, is the name of anderson. whether it be in the ring, or as a manager he was incredible. i can't imagine the influence gene had on you guys in the business. but i know the influence he had on me. the first time i met gene was on 6/6/84 at the dorton arena. it was by gene's permission that i was allowed to crawl in the ring and do some amateur stuff with jesse barr and a 16 year old brad anderson. the andersons WERE MACW. and i believe that gene was the driving force behind so much of it. what great memories i have...

Brad, I did not know your dad personally like some of the people on the board did but to see some of his matches was a true treat. Anyone can tell who much he loved his job. The best to you and you family.

What made the Anderson Brothers special and set them apart from many other wrestlers, is that they made you believe. I never had the honor or pleasure of meeting Gene Anderson, but we all get to know him a little better through what Brad has shared with us. Thanks Brad.

I echo Baltimore Jack's sentiments. Gene was a part of my wrestling memories as a fan going back to the mid-1960's, and he truly was an incredible contribution to the business.

The pic from Baltimore Jack, is the same expression you'd see on Gene right after he pulled a practical joke on someone. Ahh, I know that smile, I have seen it many times.
