The 6-man tag team match was Sting, Michael Hayes, and Jimmy Garvin vs. Larry Zybysko, Rick Steiner, and Eddie Gilbert

this has nothing to do with the 2007 fanfest. off topic polls and topics need to be in the forum for that purpose, not here. this is the third such thread started in this forum BRY

Boris told me if I didn't stop these posts he was going to send in the KGB and that would be the end of things! So much for Glasnost.

I went for Flair / Garvin. They win by a small margin over the Roadwarriors / Horseman match....

I still can't help but think that moving Starrcade from Greensboro and Atlanta to Chicago was the beginning of the end for JCP.....To make a national expansion they felt their biggest show of the year had to go on the road, but looking back that may have been a huge mistake.......

It was out of Crockett's hands thanks to Vince McMahon but Starrcade also seemed to lose something when it was moved away from the traditional Thanksgiving night place on the calendar.......

I agree 100%. Even though 87 was outside of the home base, to me it was the last "true" Starrcade. The rest just had the name, much like how the Horsemen died once Tully and Arn were out of the equation. The original flavor was never again captured. In regards to the topic, I really can't make a logical vote between Warriors vs. Tully/ Arn and Garvin vs. Flair. Both were great in thier own unique fashion. Garvin vs. Flair told a perfect story of "who was the best", with Flair wanting his pride back and Garvin having something to prove. Despite the Dusty finish, the tag title match had so much sheer emotion involved, plus if you really look at it, both teams were strong enough that either team could have been percieved as the underdogs. Totally different scenarios that made each match memorable.

I voted for Flair vs. Garvin. It wasn't a pure wrestling contest, but it was a real good fight. Garvin's brutality played well against Flair's do whatever it takes to survive and win mentality. I agree that Starrcade never should've been moved from the Mid Atlantic area to Chicago. I think the big mistake there was that Crockett moved the big event to an area without first really cultivating a loyal following in that area. Sure people in Chicago probably watched WTBS, but how often were live events held in Chicago? At that time, Chicago still would've been more in the AWA market. WWF had gone national already at that time, but territorily Chicago was not an NWA city.

I have to say Rhodes vs Luger. The young lion vs the elder statesman, career on the line, trying to win the one title that eluded him. Flair / Garvin was good, but I knew Ronnie was beat when he took a 70 day sabbatical prior to Starrcade. He looked winded in the match, and never really caught up to Flair. I'll bet no one voted for the scaffold match. Should have made it a 60 minute steel cage match, and showcased the teams' wrestling ability. Scaffold matches usually suck. No exception here.
