The time Buddy was appearing, was up on the message board for over two weeks. Plus Ken the announcer made mention of it during the whole time Buddy was there. My cell phone number is all over the K&S threads, and you could have came to our booth on Friday, with any questions, about our signings. Sorry you missed him. Ken K&S PROMOTIONS

Yeah I agree I never seen even a promo Flyer with times on any vendor table.I do remember him mentioned on the board but without total wireless in my room(another story) I couldnt look up much online..I figured Buddy would be there longer and he was gone before I was fully awake.Next time a Flyer with times would be great...Thanks in advance

I saw Buddy Roberts but passed on getting his autograph due to a small line. When Ken Spence announced that he would be leaving in an hour, my wife told me to come back in since I was in the hall at the time. I got his autograph and talked to him for a minute about when he was in the Hollywood Blonds in the Mid-Atlantic area and a tag match that I saw them in against Red Bastein in Roanoke. Buddy talked about how good Bastein was in tag matches.

I never fail to understand how people cannot see how promoters need to cover costs.
Nor do I see how people cannot expect someone to turn a profit.
I can never understand how people cannot understand the concept of how a business runs!
If the price is too high for some then thats your fault not the promoters. A BMW is too high for me so I know I need to get a better job or save up more.
Everyone wants a bargin in life instead or turning thing around on themselves.
I am really glad that you guys turned a profit and people should be thankful that you even brought these guys in. As I said in my first post your innovation guest wise was superb.

Thank you to the Best Man for those kind words and understanding what this is really all about. At one time I was on the other side of the fence like alot of fans and I could never understand the price thing either. The difference is most promoters never tried to explain it to me like we try and tell the fans. I hope that a lot of fans read these posts and see that we do try and explain our prices. Thanks again to all that supported us and will continue to support us. The more support we get the better we will be able to bring out those rare guests. As our new motto goes K&S Promotions We Deliver.

steve, you made a good point there about you guys explaining your costs, which you really didn't need to do, but it was a good thing, i guess. Bestman, I Do know a business needs to make a profit, i'm not stupid. and i also understand how a business is run and that costs need to be covered. again, i'm not stupid. let me repeat myself, i got no physical artifact that cost K&S or anyone else that is a cost to them to supply. i got roberts to sign MY book that I OWN. K&S had to cover the cost of roberts, the vendors site (roberts' appearance would cover 1/3 of that expence). that is what my $15 paid for. to cover the appearance, 1/3 of vendors table, and about 10 seconds of his time to sign MY book. i got no photo they printed, or even took photo with their polaroid or even my own camera. i got no physical item. $5 is enough. sorry, some of you guys may think it's a bargain to pay the fees they charged for the photo rooms. i bet many spent possibly $300 on that stuff. sorry, that is not a deal to me. people were there spending tons of money that i don't and WON'T spend. i spent $70 on dvd's. that's alot of money to me. i'm not a cheap b*stard, but i don't just throw money around either. i have a life i have to pay for. a new house, costs of living, taxes...i don't have a ton of money to spend on such. and if i do, i would spend it on my bills to get them, or keep them caught up. how dare me be responsible with my money instead of giving it away so freely!!! especially when it took all of ten seconds to get it. i'm not gonna sell it either, so it was not an investment. i paid the price for an autograph in a book that will sit on a shelf. (not mad, just making a point).

Well said Bobby....I am glad you turned a profit and wish you sucess..I also run a small business and know econmics well.If you made money on Boris and Stevie Ray your amazing since I seen only a few people getting Autos at your table with no lines .I will promise if you couldve came close to make the profit you made you made at $15 or $20 an Auto you wouldve sold a ton more additional items and wouldve seen a line at your table.Just your names even though Rare Midcarders were hard to compete with Snuka and Paul Bearer for half the price,I wouldve paid double for thise guys anyway. We were just sugesting a way to make more profilt is all and wish you the best.

Hey bobby - please don't think I was have a go at you as I honestly wasn't. My comments were general comments.
As I live in the UK and we get nothing like these shows I have to pay nearly a thousand bucks a time to come to a show like this so I understand peoples money problems a gret deal.
It just seems to me that every time a show is put on someone always complains but there are always people worse off - my sigs and pics probably work out a hundred bucks a go!!!
I think as Ken said the deal should be that you pay for the signature and to me thats very fair - at the end of the day thats what you and I want.
Yes I 100% realise why you want a reduced fee and I even think its fair BUT if you use the paying for the sig full stop line which is what Ken has done I also think thats fair. As K&S went to such lengths to please us and use great guests rather than the usual tired ones they get my support this time.

For hardcorefan, Let me put it this way, we made money on Boris and Stevie, even with them being the weakest of our 4 guests. How? because we had side deals with them doing shoots. If we did not have side deals set up, we would have lost money on them. I am not sure if you are correct in saying, if our prices were lower we would have made more money, There may be more customers, but less money each time, so it may end up around the same amount made. Bobby is a nice guy, and I see what he is saying. but like steve and I have said, you are paying for the autograph, not the picture or polroid. Thank you to thebestman for all your support, and understanding. We have no bad feelings toward anyone, I respect everyones opinon, even if we disgree. Thanks Ken K&S PROMOTIONS

Unfortunately, I think the best answer to all of this is this....
If you don't spend money with the vendors, they'll stop coming.
And as we've discussed here many times previously, the Photo Ops (and Polaroids in the past,) is just another way we help pay the bills to make fanfest happen. If you don't support them, yes that's your option. But without that source of revenue, there may be no more fanfest weekends.
It's that simple.

true. and i can't do that from my end, and i sure don't condemn anyone that does. personally, not that there's anything wrong with me, but i don't prefer photos of myself with anyone or anything. i prefer candid shots of people and places. so, photo things like that are not really a deal to me, from my perspective. but like greg said, it is one way to make the expences get paid for. Bestman...i'm sorry if i came across as a bit nasty. maybe i take things abit different right now considering that i ruptured disc in my back and an ear infection may have me a bit out of sorts. i'm not myself it seems since returning from fanfest and maybe i am a bit quick with you and others right now. i forgot you were from the UK. i don't recall seeing you post here lately. maybe you can come to charlotte next year? hopefully i won't be falling apart then.... glad to see you are up and about greg.

No need to apologise - everyone has a right to express how they feel.
Probably not everyone agrees with my thoughts but hey - we all learn to get along with each other.
My big thing is that I am very keen to support shows like this because I love the sport and anyone who can bring us the names we all know and love gets my respect. The problem is that there are only so many names out there and already the scene in the tri state area is getting a down turn.
I have been very supportive of K&S because they seem to have realised this and have acted accordingly. I get the feeling that the convention scene will go a lot longer with people like Ken bringing us fresh faces.
True Ahmed and Stevie are not exactly legends but hey they are still new guys to the scene. Zukoff again is a fresh face other than an odd signing here and there and of course Roberts - Roberts was just the best idea I have seen someone come up with in a long while!
We all know and love people like Jimmy Snuka but how many times can we meet him - sooner that line will just keep getting smaller!
The key to the future is innovation. As Greg rightly mentions without the vendors this thing ain't going to work.
Here is the UK I work in events. I am the conference manager for Europes biggest primary healthcare event and the event is completely free to delegates - and thats around 5000 of them!!! The entire event is paid for through vendors so I understand the need for them and to support them.
Anyway enough of my rabble and soory to hear you are not feeling so great - I hope all picks up soon.
On a side note I had been posting less and really because I realised I wasn't going to be able to make the show. I was pretty annoyed and upset I couldn't too.
I had a major conference in June and needed a real holiday as the hours I put in were crazy. My girlfriend had also been getting annoyed with me as I keep going abroad to shows rather than going away with her! With both factors we went away in Europe for a week.
That meant my money was a little tight and when I saw the price of the flights to Washington I got a nasty shock - all the airways wanted crazy money for economy and the flights never really went down in price. Add that to transfer costs, photo opps and admission prices - it just got too expensive.
I really hope to be with you guys in the future though.
