CROSSEN & LANE TO MAKE APPEARANCE AT "CAPITOL WRESTLING LEGENDS FANFEST"
(Schofield, WI) July 1st, 2006 – The two founding creators of NWF Kids Pro Wrestling Shawn “Crusher” Crossen and Chuck “Luxury” Lane will be appearing at the Capitol Wrestling Legends Fanfest in Rockville, Maryland on behalf of NWF Kids Pro Wrestling to promote the latest NWF Book and DVD products. The Fanfest is being held on August 11-13, 2006 at the Doubletree Hotel.
Both Crossen and Lane will be available to sign autographs and answer questions regarding the recently published book Pro Wrestling Kids’ Style and the award-winning documentary NWF Kids Pro Wrestling – The Untold Story. Both the book and DVD will be available for purchase, along with the entire line of products offered from NWF Kids Pro Wrestling such as the Anoka Armory Series DVDs. “We’re looking forward to sharing our story with other wrestling fans about what we did back in the 1980’s” said Crossen. Chuck Lane, the other half of the creative force behind the NWF said “We want kids at the fanfest to learn from what we did, and not make the mistakes that are so commonly seen with today’s backyard wrestling”.
In other news, the 27th annual 2006 Telly Awards were announced last month, and NWF Kids Pro Wrestling – The Untold Story has taken home three of the prestigious awards. The documentary won two bronze awards in both “Children’s Programming” and “Inspirational Programming”, and a Silver award in Sports Programming. The Silver Award is the top award issued by The Telly Awards. The 2006 DV Awards were also announced last month, and NWF Kids Pro Wrestling – The Untold Story was selected as a winner in two categories of “Documentary” and “Children’s Audience”.
And finally, both Crossen and Lane continue to work with Warner Brothers, who has recently developed a treatment that is being pitched to studio executives that will turn the story of “kids pro wrestling” into a full featured film. “We helped give them specifics to our story to help create the treatment” said Crossen. If the treatment gets approval, the next step would be assigning a writer to create a full script.
“NWF Kids Pro Wrestling The Untold Story has now received over thirteen national and international awards and endorsements since it’s release on DVD video last October of 2005. The DVD release is currently being distributed by Baker & Taylor, Ingram Entertainment and Navarre. You can purchase the DVD on Amazon.com as well as retail locations in 46 states in stores such as FYE (For Your Entertainment), Wherehouse Music, Saturday Matinee, and more.
