Found this interesting story on the Old School Wrestling website about Mike Fever. Funny story! Enjoy.
In a small town in North Georgia, the main event was Mike Fever vs. Billy Black. During the course of the match, Mike was to use flash paper to burn Billy Black. This particular type of flash paper went off in a special type of gun ( similar to a derringer) that magicians use. Mike had nowhere to hide the gun except inside his silver and black singlet he wore.
During the course of the match, the gun slipped form the waist band of his undertights to the crotch area. Billy Black gave Mike a snap mare and when Mikes' butt hit the canvas, the gun fired, both barrels. Smoke was coming from the crotch area of his tights and he was scooting like a dog on his fanny around the inside of the ring.
Finally, he rolled out of the ring and started fanning his crotch. Billy, trying not to laugh, yelled, "Hey Ref, he's got something in his pants". Mike responded with , "Yeah, two pair of boiled nuts". His under tights and singlet had two big holes burned in them. After this, he was always called Fireball Mike Fever. This incident occurred in 1984.
