It seems he would turn up at one of these at some point.... I'm curious why you'd say that? He's an active wrestler, not quite a "legend" yet. Just curious why you think he'd turn up. With that said, and maybe you already know this, RVD and I are friends and I'm a big Van Dam mark. Unfortunately, the show he's on just does not interest me a bit. I hope that someday RVD gets a chance to show the world what the real RVD is like. It's definitely not the script-fed, watered-down toker that you see portrayed on Monday nights. I know someone will take that out of context and try to get me in trouble with it, but the truth hurts sometimes. Maybe someday the powers-that-be will fall out of their trees and bump some reality into their heads. Thankfully, we have ECW dvds and that hope that someday things will improve. Rob certainly deserves everything he gets. I've known this guy since he busted his hump in the Carolinas and all over the Southeast, working in every small town high school and armory. I knew back then RVD was headed straight up. I just hope that glass ceiling gives way soon. On a different note, if you're ever in Southern California, make sure to check out RVD's 5-Star Comics and Wrestling store ( www.5starcomics.com). It's the place to be for comics and wrestling buffs. Next week, 4/20 as a matter of fact, TNA's Samoa Joe will be at the store signing autographs. There's a chance, too, that 5-Star Comics may be one of our exhibitors at this year's fanfest. Okay, enough RVD. This is supposed to be about legends.

I have to agree with Hardcore. RVD is a great Wrestler now and when he was wrestling here in this area. We all travelled to many small and large towns while he was here. He was the favorite of the fans to go out to eat with after the shows. Hardcore always had programs with a lucky number and the winner got to chose who they wanted to eat with. Lucky RVD and somtime Wahoo.

Weird that you would want RVD there...
One thing I have to add, is that I have met RVD about 4 times over the years, and he's one of THE nicest guys I have met in all the 15 or so years I have been meeting wrestlers. He is always awesome to see in person.

I knew the connection , between ECW and WWE RVD wrestled here at The Boathouse and Greg you were selling the whole F'n shoot videos , I still have them to this day and I figured since you two were tight he'd end up at one of these fanfests one day. He's a current star who older fans even respect and feel bad for. Although I don't know how well he would have been booked if we took him in a time machine and put him in the Crockett era either. He would have been jobbing to Road Warriors in squash matches probably. RVD is the man , he just neve got used right anywhere....
