Billy and Jimmy Hines wrestled for Jim Crockett Sr. during the last half of 1966 as the Red Demons. Initially they had approached Homer O'Dell on the Roanoke,VA tv show and asked him to be their manager. Mr. O'Dell declined because he was still the manager of Aldo Bogni and Bronco Lubich. Eventually Two-Ton Harris became their manager and insisted that fans start calling him Mr. George Harris.

Oh my goodness, what a great photo of George Harris! I wish so much I could have seen him during his managerial days.

I loved hearing George Harris doing an interview. During his time as a manager here between 1966-71, he mentioned the National Wrestling Alliance and Sam Muchnick more than anyone on the Crockett tv shows. From time to time,Mr. George Harris would read a letter or telegram he had received from Mr. Muchnick (Two-Ton always pronounced it "Munch- nick). These were allegedly in response to complaint's he had filed with the NWA.

"Bunk" Harris was a great heel manager. When he managed the Masked RED DEMONS, he dyed his hair red and wore a bright red suit to match his men's attire.
They had a great program with Becker and Weaver.
I saw George and Johnny unmask them at the old Charlotte Coliseum (although I'm sure they did the unmasking match all around the territoy).
But unlike most masked teams who lose their hoods, they didn't leave the area. They continued as THE UNMASKED RED DEMONS.

I had to the opportunity to announce shows in Richmond starting in 1969, while Billy & Jimmy Hines were still wrestling (Unmasked Red Demons). They were still a good heel draw and had a feud or two still going in the Mid Atlantic area. Jimmy would always try to crack me up when he was in the ring, either by funny gestures or expressions aimed at me or by something he'd say while in the corner above me. They were both a pleasure to be around. As was George "Two Ton" Harris with his famous "I got him now." George was wrestling single matches then.
