Something tells me Bret Hart either will be returning shortly, or has already made his return to WWE. So much for "not today, not tomorrow, not next month / year / 20 years from now!" Here's the link... www.ringsidefest.com/

OK, I wasn't there, but just wondering, didn't he say that he wouldn't appear on TV with them? This looks to be some legends sort of thing, that may be a contractual obligation since they're releasing a DVD about him and he doesn't want to get buried like the Ultimate Warrior was (and that one is funny, if you haven't see it, lol.) I'm not a big Brett hart fan, but this was my understanding of his position on WWE. I could be wrong.

What? Like he hasn't already been "buried" by WWE already? That's all they've done for nearly eight years!
Personally, I don't consider Carlito a "legend." If Ringside Fest was a legends thing, then he has no place being there! And no offense to Kurt Angle, but he hasn't been around long enough to be considered a legend.
Bret's position on WWE seemed to change over the course of the Q&A. First it was "Not now, not ever!" Then it was "Well, maybe a legends thing." Then he was like "Well, maybe if they apologize for what happened." He has also said he blames HBK more than Vince. Something about Vince just doing what he thought was best for the company. I think there is plenty of blame to go around, with a small portion of it going to Bret himself!
I followed Bret out of WWF / WWE in 1997. I came close to giving up wrestling altogether about the time he retired. But I came back, thanks in part to NWA: TNA, although I rarely have a chance to watch it, what with school, work, etc.
If Bret goes back to WWE, as it appears he will, I have no intention of following him. If he had said, "Yes I am planning a return to WWE (for whatever reason)..." I wouldn't have been quite so upset. So much for always being honest with his fans!

I just have to say $$$$$$ talks and when the WWE puts $$$$$$ out on a table it makes good men go bad.

Maybe I missed something here.
Ringsidefest is not a WWE project. It's just another autograph signing for Bret Hart.
I found Bret to be very open and honest in Charlotte. I got the impression that what happened in Montreal will never be forgotten, but he's not going to let the memory of it haunt him forever.

i think the point made by the initial poster lies within the lineup for this particular event. even if it is not a WWE promoted event, it is lined up with WWE talent. so it does appear that hart is "in bed" with the WWE, even if he is not. it can give one that impression.

I've heard rumors about the Warrior DVD... Even the title is offensive! I mean, I'm not an Ultimate Warrior fan. But self-destruction??? That's harsh - even for Vince!

I can't go with you on this one Bobby, his beef never was with WWE talent persay. Just the Company, Shawn and Hunter. This is an independant booking for Bret, not in any way associated with the WWE.

Personally, I don't consider Carlito a "legend." If Ringside Fest was a legends thing, then he has no place being there! Actually, he gets very little mention on the show really. The one time I have seen him mentioned since I started watching it was when HBK was doing his think with Hogan, and when his music played the crowd popped big time, so the company isn't going to do too much against him these days. When I said buried I was speaking in terms of the DVD of UW wasn't very flattering, and maybe Brett would actually like to have a DVD out for him that is positive for the fans. As for Carlito, I couldn't agree more. His dad may be a legend, but he's not. Sorry that I got ya upset about it, though. Like I had said initially, I'm not a Brett Hart fan anyway. I guess I should've not said anything.

Thanks to Mike Aldren for this:
"The Slam Wrestling website has a good story up on Bret hart talking about his WWE DVD. He said he was glad he decided to participate and that the finished product didn't wind up like the Ultimate Warrior DVD: "There's a big difference between Warrior and me: we're complete opposites in that the Warrior (really) was an asshole." He said he still watches wrestling and pointed out Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle as his favorites. He said he wouldn't be part of a WWE storyline ever again but didn't rule out doing something with TNA."

I really appreciate your posting that... I guess I'm just paranoid. I especially like the part about him doing something with TNA. That would be fantastic - my two favorite wrestlers (Raven & Bret) working for the same company!
