Other than the few details mentioned above and some long delays, I had a great time. It was great hanging out with Stingmark, Bobby, GarvinStomp, NatureBoy14, osnwafan and meeting Dick Bourne, Stuttsky, JNance, Flair1, StompingGround, Steven Johnson, Chris Tilley, Phillip Smeltzer, Graham Cawthon, sittingstill, bluedevil (again), mw2fan, the MX webmaster, Greg Price (again), Dennis Condrey's wife, Mark Nulty, MidKnighter (again), Steve Frye, TAFKADixie (thanks again Sam), Mayfield, JimmyKimmel and so many others I might be forgetting right now.
The wrestling on Saturday was a great time. Armstrong vs Anderson was better than I expected. It was good. The TNA matches were good and I really enjoyed finally seeing RNR vs Midnight.
Shannon Moore was a pleasant surprise.
One of the absolute highlites was when Dennis Condrey called me and Stingmark to the front of the pack during the MX/Cornette photo session. That was great.
I got a ton of new stuff from various vendors. Lots of dvds, mags etc.
After Bobby dropped us at the airport, we ran into Greg Valentine. He told us a little about his Fanfest experience and he was on the same plane we were.
It was a great weekend meeting up with everyone and the wrestlers.

Unfortunately on Sunday before the Q & A it was announced that since the chairs weren't numbered that you could sit anywhere. Being on the front row it was easy to count and we got our seats but only after we asked some people to move.
I thought everything went really smooth and had no real problems. I only wish that better photos had been available. The same ones were for sale and some were sold out. No R & R Express this time and no Ole Anderson photos since the first one. Highspots filled the missing photos but their quality just wasn't as good. Not glossy.

Kyle, I forgot to list you when I was naming people I met. Hope you had a great time as I did.
I wasn't aware of that announcement. In hindsight, I guess we can't blame those guys for being in our seat if this announcement made. We never heard it though.

Shannon, I share your sentiments on Sunday's chair situation. We got lucky to get our seats both times, though we almost missed out on the show Sunday night. When talking to Greg Valentine at the airport, did he explain why he was pulled from the matches on Sunday night?

When talking to Greg Valentine at the airport, did he explain why he was pulled from the matches on Sunday night? Hey Mike. Yes he did, but I would rather keep it off the boards since it would just stir up negativity. Yeah, we were lucky on Sunday to get the seats that we did.

Sorry to hear that some of you had trouble with the Sunday seating. I did hear a lot of talk about "first come, first serve" for the Sunday Q&A. I was lucky enough that there was nobody in my seat, but there were people in my neighbors seats. They did move when asked. I did go talk to that Scooter Leslie about the situation, and he immediately anounced that you should try to find you original VIP seat. As for the matches, there was a lady with her son in out seats, and they did move when I asked. Of course, with a ton of people gone, they just moved down the row. I know that I'm glad I got my tickets early, as I was usually out of the autograph line within 10 minutes.

I overall I had the sun crammed up my rear end this weekend. Mostly meeting up with the people is what makes this fun. Alan, Bobby, Brad, Scott Williams, Stinkmark who is now my new bodyguard, GarvinStomp and several others.
The one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was when getting my picutre taken w/ Dory at the Polariod session, he snuck in his trainee Johnny Magnum to be in the photo...and the picture was taken with the three of us before I really had the chance to say anything. No disrespect to the guy, but I came and paid to see Dory. And although I never approached or spoke to the man, I did see and hear Dusty Rhodes be rude to several fans.
On the other hand I did get a chance to meet wrestlers I'd never met; like Jack Brisco, Bobby Heenan, Terry Funk, Harley Race, Dick Slater, Gary Hart. They were all first class, as well as Cornette, Bobby and Dennis, Ole Anderson, Masked Superstar, Mark Nulty, David Flair, Ricky Morton....just about everyone I came in contact with was great.
Overall, I can't say anything bad about the event itself. The matches were great Saturday night, the overall buzz was positive, a great mix of talent, and I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would.

one more thing....the seats were too close together. Next time, spacing the chairs apart from each other a slight bit would be of help. Lots of big people at the convention, and I'm sure some don't like to be rubbing legs with everyone around them.

This was my very first fanfest, and I must say... I had a BLAST! Was disappointed that the Bret Hart Q&A was cut short... But it was still great, just to meet him! And we all know that the topics wouldn't have strayed far from Montreal / WWE, right? Anyway, I am already making plans for next year's event. I'm a little confused as to why they didn't just stay in Charlotte. Oh well... Rockville, MD is only a couple hours further away.

some people seem to think that charlotte will get burned out with so many fanfests. there has been 3 now within a 19 month period. i personally have no problem with travelling to another city. but i feel at home at the hilton. i wish it would stay. but i can't speak for everyone.

I agree with you Bobby, I like it in Charlotte (even if it is a 3 hour drive). I'm not sure if Charlotte would get burned out but too many too quick could burn it out. I feel like Charotte once a year would be good. It's a good location with Charlotte being a major airport. Lots of the wrestlers that we grew up with still live in the area or have short flights in.

I certainly hope they can cut a good deal on the room prices at the DoubleTree hotel. I just checked and the website says the per-nite rate is like $279 for that weekend!
