Folks, I'm sorry to say that Dory Funk Jr. will not be at fanfest this weekend.
Sorry for the late notice and I will have more to say this weekend.
Thanks to everyone for your continued support.
Bret Hart WILL be here, regardless of how much WWE is trying to dance around it, trying to sell more tickets to Sunday's PPV.
Bret will also be live in the studio for Sunday night's "Got Game?" TV show on the local FOX affiliate in Charlotte.

That's bad news. I was hoping to get him on my NWA domed globe belt. I sure hope the floodgate of cancellations doesn't open as they have at past fanfests!

BTW, Summerslam in DC has already sold out, so they don't need to sell more tickets, but maybe more PPV buys.

Would be nice if a couple of replacement legends might be called into action. Or bring in some good indy talent for Sunday.

Too bad on Dory. I've missed out on him since the first one. He couldn't come in for Fayetteville last year due to weather. That's too bad.

I don't remember anything I'd call floodgate, but maybe you can speak specifically about what youre talking about and when. Bottom line is in this business is "card subject to change." I bust my hump to make things come off smoothly, but you're talking about dealing with 40 guys here folks. At the minimum, I think I've been up front and honest when situations arise. Gosh, I wish you weren't so darned negative.

IM WITH YOU SIMM....SOMETIMES WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!!! ALREADY LOST 4 GUYS SINCE LAST WEEK I'm with you GP. To be honest, 2 of them (Smothers & Barbarian) probably didnt sell one single ticket and the same number of people would be attending regardless of their presence. Dory was there last time and Tully has been to every one so far. The only major loss in my eyes was Windham who would have been making his first appearance. Go to any WWE show, any indy show and damn sure any gathering w/40+ wrestlers and there's bound to be a few who can't make it.

I actually was really looking forward to Smothers, but I do agree that I don't think they individually sold many tickets.
Too bad about Junior but as others have stated, it's not like the cards aren't stacked for the event. Can't wait!

I just had to explain the "card subject to change" to a few people myself. But I think everyone will be happy with who is still on the show. Wayne

Even without Barry and Dory it should be a great show. I'm not going to make this one and am sick over it. I plan to make the Spartanburg show. Have a great time. later, Gene05

Dory Funk was all over Fanfest,I sure hope its not backwards and The Hitman doesn't show. The show has been great but many would be upset if hitman doesn't make it.

I am happy to report I was pleasantly surprised to see Dory pull up to the Hilton the same time I did. And he was still there this afternoon when I left. Much to Greg's credit and everyone else who worked to put this together, ALL PERSONS advertised to attend up until the last week were on hand and very pleasant to deal with.
