Anyone from Houston?

I was wondering if anyone from the Houston area was coming to the Fanfest. I'm headed up because we never have anything like this here. Which is sad considering how big of a wrestling town Houston was back in the territorial days. I'm having to go it alone, too, because none of my wrestling buds can make the trip. It would be nice to re-live the good old days of Houston Wrestling (even in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic!) since most of the wrestlers at the Fanfest made it through Texas at some time or the other.

Heartpunch, we had a guy in Fayetteville last year from Texas? Name was Brad. He's coming up for this one, as well, from what I was told. Looking forward to meeting.

Also, did you know the WFIA had a convention in Houston in 1986 in conjunction with a UWF-Bill Watts show?

Thanks for the replys! Yes, bluedevil, I do remember the con back in '86. It was held at the Doubletree Hotel near Intercontinental Airport. I attended that Sunday afternoon. I don't remember any wrestlers being there, but I seem to recall seeing George Napolitano (the wrestling photog/writer). I think there was an award presentation at the matches that previous Friday night at the Sam Houston Coliseum. I did buy a Japanese book on Mil Mascaras from a vendor there and, luckily, I was able to get it autographed by the man himself at a lucha libre show in Houston back in the spring of 1998.
