Grew up watching the Spoiler in the Maritimes and also on TV in Georgia. Truly one of the best masked men in the business and a great guy outside the ring also.
The First heel that I cheered for, and got dirty looks from old people at the local arenas
RIP Mr. Jardine

according to Meltzer, the story is that there were so many "outlaw" Spoiler's in the Carolinas that had given it a bad name, he went by SD instead

according to Meltzer, the story is that there were so many "outlaw" Spoiler's in the Carolinas that had given it a bad name, he went by SD instead If Meltzer said that, I believe he is wrong. If I'm not mistaken, there was already a "Spoiler" wrestling here, thus the new moniker for Jardine. The Spoiler that was wrestling in Mid-Atlantic was a mid-level heel, if I'm not mistaken. I remember seeing him work with the likes of Steve Keirn and Tiger Conway Jr. on TV.

The Spoiler I remember (Vachon) came to JCP after Jardine abruptly left to avenge the "unmasking" of his friend The Super Destroyer.

The Spoiler I remember (Vachon) came to JCP after Jardine abruptly left to avenge the "unmasking" of his friend The Super Destroyer. Well, you would know better than me, bolo, so I stand corrected. My first live card was at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. Super Destroyer vs. Andre The Giant, and Wahoo McDaniel vs. Blackjack Mulligan. Not sure of the date, but those memories are priceless. I mistakenly thought the two masked guys were here at the same time or, at least, Spoiler was here before the Super Destroyer left. I do remember them showing a photo of Don Jardine on television after he left. He must've had some real heat with the office. I guess that was their way to try to "bury" him.
