watching wwe 24/7 makes me realize the wrestling i grew up on could never have a good fanfest line up (for the 85 Hulkamania era) , no Mr. Perfect , Rude , JYD , Monsoon , Davey Boy Smith , Earthquake , Dino Bravo , Texas Tornado , Adrian Adonis , Hawk , Elizabeth, that's just off the top of my head....

the more sad part is, that of all the names you listed...only earthquake, monsoon, JYD, and adonis died without questionable reasons. that being defined as either drugs or possible steroid related issues. sad...1/3 of them almost. and dino since it was likely a mob hit, if the stories i heard were true.

When I'm watching old tapes, I'll actually sit there and count how many of the superstars are deceased. It's extremely upsetting.

In a lot of the old matches, it's not uncommon to see 2-3 guys in there that are no longer with us. Sorry for the double post.

the first wrestling thing i ever saw was flipping channels and seeing Sika eating hot mustard on a Saturday Night's Main Event. Then I tuned in Feb 1988 and watched Hogan vs Andre on NBC , Honky vs Savage and that was it... living in Norfolk all we got here live was NWA and of course I got into that , and "Legends Of World Class Championship Wrestling" was on ESPN as well as AWA so I was just hooked! The first NWA thing I saw was Sting beat up JJ after he tossed a drink in Stings face... I love wrestling so much! Renting Wrestlemania 4 the day it came out was such a big deal to me!

I should note I then went back and rented all that I could... Road Warriors were so cool back then , I must have rented Bash 87 20 times!
