Just got word this evening that Chad Floyd (former Carolinas indy wrestler Chazz Rocco,) passed away on Saturday.
Chad wrestled for many promotions in and around the Carolinas, mostly near his home in the South Carolina coastal region.

any idea what caused his death, greg? Bobby: I got an email from a indy worker I knew way back when -- Johnny Kidd -- telling me Chad had passed away due to heart failure. I hadn't seen Chad in years so I asked Johnny if he knew what he'd been doing and if there were any details on his passing. This is the response I got back: "You may not know, but in recent years he and his wife were running a tanning salon in Myrtle Beach. Beside his business he caught two thugs breaking into cars cira 1999 at a used car dealership at which time he confronted the thugs breaking into cars and was attacked and apparently his head was repeatedly smashed against the doorjamb of a car thus giving Chaz permanent brain damage. He did not wrestle after that. He suffered from a number of seizers and was strongly recommended he had brain surgery in which I don't think he had. He eventually suffered from fibromyalgia. He had his good days and bad days. He had gone from 240 lbs. to under 150. He hung in there as much as he could. Apparently his heart had given out on him. I had been by to see him almost a month ago and he seemed to be doing well. Funeral Arrangements are Monday at McMillian Small Funeral home in Myrtle Beach for visitation, with services being Tuesday @ 11 AM. Both will be at the funeral home on 67th. Ave North in Myrtle Beach. I personally will greatly miss him."

Chazz was a friend of mine. I was trained by Clement Fields in Charleston SC at the same time he was being trained by Buzz Tyler in Sumter. As a resident of Myrtle Beach myself I would stop by his shop on 3rd ave every blue moon just to see how he was. He not only knew how to work but also how to work the crowd. R.I.P. Chazz........You will be missed by Fans and Friends
