He started coming into his own when he teamed with Manny Fernandez, then really found his niche while in the WWF. But his work in WCW is what put him over the top.
Not from a drawing standpoint, but for a pure heel, he is still the best I've ever seen. NOBODY cheered him. Yet he didn't turn people off in a way that made them not want to see him.
He was a great interview, and the way he would sell something like an atomic drop, really made the crowd explode every time. He was a good worker.
His feud with Ricky Steamboat in WCW was a favorite of mine. I remember when I was 12, voting for it in the year end PWI awards as feud of the year. Rick Rude had a great run, a strong career.
