We've lost a lot of MACW stars over the past few years; Swede Hanson, Rufus R. Jones, John Studd, Gene Anderson, to name just a few, but one of my favorites that we've lost was Tim Woods - the epitome of clean. Woods was a solid wrestler; he spent almost his entire career in the MACW and Georgia areas. He was almost like a volcano - he'd wrestle clean and the heels woulod break rules right and left until Woods couldn't take anymore, then start brawling - and when he'd start brawling, the pops from the fans was deafening - a true master of ring psychology Back in the day of kayfabe, I was at a match (I think back in 1978) when Mulligan turned face and he and Woods were partners - I heard an old woman behind me say that Woods was the only saint able to tame a sinner like Mulligan. Hearing that, I had to laugh, but that was Wood's legacy - a tough, clean wrestler with a huge fan following.
Rest in Peace, George Burrell Wooden - you are missed.

I first saw Mr. Wrestling (never called him anything else)on Live Atlanta Wrestling in the early 1960s. He was the favorite of a dumb 5-year-old but he was as the previous poster says CLEAN. That white mask was his trademark and the fans would go nuts when he came out. I remember being shocked when he took off the mask for one of the Apter mags. Holy Cow! Mr. Wrestling been in the mid-Atlantic area for a while when he and Dino Bravo teamed up against the Andersons for that tag-belt match on TV. But everybody gasped when he came out wearing the mask. I'll never forget how he explained it: The Andersons like to inflict pain on the people they wrestle. They like to see it in their faces. That's why I put on the mask so they couldn't know if they'd injured me. Of course, the finish to the match is history, Mr. Wrestling shoved Gene out of the way as Ole was coming off the turnbuckle and Wham! They laid the figure four(?) on Ole and that was that!!! Also, his feud with der great Baron von Raschke. Surely yall recall that amateur rules match. Mr. Wrestling won the match and was demanding his box of medals be returned when der Baron sneaked up behind him: Here, Herr Mister Wrestling are your medals! KABOOM!!! Der Baron laid him out with that box to the head. My memory aint what it once was but seems like they had some real brawls after that. He deserved the accolade Mr. Wrestling. He'd brawl with em, wrestle clean and even drive em nuts with his mat moves. A face worthy of the cheers he received. Rest well, Mister Wrestling. We miss you.
