I only mention this because of a thread in the 1977-86 thread about Magnum T.A. and Wahoo McDaniel.
I want to say the date was Oct. 2, 1992. WCW ran a house show in Harrisonburg, Va., and later that night in Lynchburg, Va. On the Harrisonburg show (a 2 p.m. matinee) Barry Windham teamed with Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes teamed with Sting to wrestle Cactus Jack and The Barbarian with Jake Roberts.
Well, I forget which one it was, but I think Rhodes came out wearing the World tag-team title belt and was announced as one-half of the new World tag-team champions. Of course, we knew that Rhodes and Windham were taking on Steve Williams and Terry Gordy on the taped WCW that night on TV. So we raced home to catch the title change that we already knew was going down.
It's kind of neat knowing that a title change was going to happen. I was ready to make bets with people that didn't go to the show. LOL.

I remember when they won the titles....They put together a really great match with Williams and Gordy......I was primed and ready for a hot feud between the two teams, and then when Halloween Havoc 92 rolled around, the rematch fell apart because Gordy and Bill Watts had some kind of contract dispute and Gordy walked out....A young Steve Austin filled in and teamed with Dr. Death against Windham and Rhodes....The match was good and showed what was yet to come for Austin, but I was still bummed that Gordy was gone...........
