If things were perfect and the circumstances as such worked out, I was thinking.....
What if when Ole left the Horsemen, instead of Lex Luger, the slot could have been given to Gino Hernandez. Ring wise, he was obviously light years ahead of Luger; but Gino had the look, the attitude, and I think would have made a great fit either as a single or re-teaming with Tully.
I feel Gino could have been what Luger should have been.

Well, that would be nice, but Gino was dead by then. Gino died in early 1986. Ole was booted from the Horsemen and replaced by Luger in February 1987.

Factoring Gino's passing in January 86, that's point I was making in my opening statement.
Also in retrospect, I recall Tully Blanchard saying he called Gino in Houston about Crockett having a spot for him here in 1984. One can only image what type of impact Gino would have had in this area.

That said, Gino would've been a great choice. He definitely would've fit in.

Me and Bradshaw had this discussion before. It would have been one of the best angles of it's time if it would have happened. Gino and Tully would have definitely been the tag champs and plus held other singles belts. So many things could have been done with Gino coming in if he would have back in 84. I know one thing for sure....I could see Gino and Tully taking the belts from Dusty and Bull back then.
