Am I the only one that thinks that at least one, or two scaffold matches should be held in the WWE? The reason why I like the scaffold match, is because the wrestlers who participated in them actually risked their lives to put on a show for the fans. That's something that you don't see anymore with the WWE.

I love scaffold matches. I think that the first one took place in 1982 with Koko Ware vs. Bill Dundee. Many of you recall Starrcade 86: Night of the Skywalkers with The Midnight Express vs. The Road Warriors on the scaffold. So many great 1980s and 1990s scaffold matches in the NWA regional promotions.

I got to see Night of the Skywalkers. The only thing about those matches though (and it makes sense really) is that a lot of the action is slower and more pronounced. If they did a scaffold match today though, there are plenty of the younger wrestlers (and Mick Foley) who would be willing to throw themselves down. It actually was a type of match not used much as I recall.

I heard yesterday that there was a scaffold match that was before the 1982 clash between Bill Dundee and Koko Ware and that it happened in the early 1970s in the Continental promotion near Chattanooga, I think.

IMO...if you have to use scaffolds and ladders then you're actually watching a circus act. Imagine Harley and Wahoo on a scaffold?...I DONT THINK SO!

I guess I'll be in the minority when I say I'd rather not see any new scaffold matches.
The fans remember them as amazing and great but the wrestlers involved - notably the MX - didn't like the matches and didn't like the gimmick.
When Bobby Eaton was asked about Night of the Skywalkers during the Spartanburg Q&A, he said the match sucked.
And really what could be done with a match like that? You throw some punches, you land some kicks, somebody falls off. Not much to it and the risk for injury is pretty high.

A SCAFFOLD MATCH IN ECW WAS A THING A BEAUTY. IF YA LIKE SEEING GROWN MEN TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER. WATCH THE NEW JACK VS VIC GRIMES MATCH AND YOU'LL SEE. THE WORKERS OF SUCH A MATCH MUST BE OF THE HARDCORE VARIETY OR IT WILL SUCK. MX...ROCK AND ROLL XPRESS WERE NOT HARDCORE. THESE MATCHES HAVE THEIR PLACE BUT COULD BE BOOKED HORRIBLY!
