Which former NWA World Champion was treated the worst by Vince McMahon in the WWF in the 1980s?
a. Dory Funk Jr (known as Hoss Funk in 1986) b. Harley Race (known as The King in 1986 - 1989) c. Jack Brisco (tag team with brother Jerry in 1984) d. Terry Funk (known as Terrible in 1985 - 1986) e. Dusty Rhodes (known as The American Dream in 1989 - 1991) f. Ric Flair (knows as The Nature Boy in 1991 - 1993 and 2001 - present) g. Kerry Von Erich (known as Texas Tornado in 1990 - 1992) h. Ron Garvin (known as Rugged in 1988 - 1990) i. Rick Streamboat (known as The Dragon in 1985 - 1988)

Well, Harley Race was made to look pretty foolish, Garvin pretty much got as much of a push as he deserved, Terry and Dory Funk were made out to be racists, and Steamboat had to carry around a giant lizard and breathe fire. But Dusty got the worst treatment of all. I mean, I was never a huge Dusty fan, but c'mon, The Pizza Man, The American Butcher, etc... not even The American Splotch deserved that. And nobody, not even Garvin, deserved Sapphire.

Dory Funk Jr, at this point it really didn't matter because it wasn't the 1960'-70s anymore.
Terry Funk, they missed the boat considering the 10.? something rating that SNME drew with he and Hogan at the top. Terry could of really put on a main at Mania in 86 against Hogan.
Harley Race, huh, I really don't know what to think. I do know that it wasn't the "NWA" Harley Race, which is missing the boat all together, which the WWE continues to do to this day.
Jack Brisco, to vanilla for the WWE at this stage. To great of a wrestler who was ready to hang'em up anyway. This was a GREAT team in Mid-Atlantic.
Dusty Rhodes, they really put it to ol'Virge. But, the great performer that he was, he pulled it off. Still it wasn't Outlaw, Stardust, pre 87 Rhodes.
Ric Flair, can't get much better then the WWE title twice at this stage in the industry. Also surviving the most stacked Rumble ever to get over, he got his props as he should. They, the WWE blew it though with he and Hogan.
Ricky Steamboat, good push. Had the best matches on their shows for two years. Should of been a WWE champion but was a decade early. The WWE didn't begin pushing workers until Hart and Michaels era.
Kerry Von Erich, I like the tag of Texas Tornado. KVE was not anywhere near where he was in 82, 83, 84, and 85. Still it was enjoyable and odd seeing a Von Erich anywhere but WCCW.
Ron Garvin, guess they did what they could, made space. I really like Garvins hard hitting style. After what has occured in the ring over the last several years watching Garvin whip on a jobber now is pure joy, and brutal. They signed Garvin just to hurt Crockett, nothing more and nothing less.

I just read Terry Funk's book, also read Brisco's, Flair"s & Races's. Once Race went to work for the WWF he didn't seem to have a problem with Vince.
a. Dory just didn't have the look to get pushed too much. b. Race won the King of the Ring. c. Jack came in with his brother as a team and that's how he stayed. d. Terry got that big match with Hogan on the Main Event. e. Dusty got all those skits and a feud with Savage. f. Flair got pushed and continues to get a push. g. Kerry "God rest his soul" just didn't have his act together and was limited physically even if the one foot not holding him back like it would anyone else. h. Ron Garvin - what can you really say, could work with anybody but just not but so much could be done with him in the WWF i. Steamboat had a great run only the WWF title would have put him over the top, hard to do with Hogan holding the belt most of the time.
Just starting Dusty's book. For all I know he came up with all those ridiculous skits and the polka dots. I'll find out in about a week.

I'd say Dory, who was treated as just another jabroni.
Race also.
