Use this link then click on WRAL transitions, then click videos, then click commercials to watch a commercial from the show. I could not receive WRAL at this time but I am betting that is local host Nick Pond at ringside with Nelson Royal and Paul Jones. When he announced that Bronco Lubich and Chris Markoff would be wrestling Bob Brunell and Alex Medina,I knew it was circa 1970 because Lubich and Markoff only wrestled as a team in JCP from July 1970 until early 1971. images.ibsys.com/ral-structure/images/wral/interactives/WRAL50th/index.html

Wow - great stuff.
So does WRAL have some old footage that WWE possibly doesn't have??

I sent the link to Bob Caudle and he confirmed that it is indeed Nick Pond with Nelson Royal and Paul Jones in that 1971 clip. Nick Pond hosted the Raleigh version of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling when Caudle hosted the version that went elsewhere around the territory. (For more on all that see WRAL Studio Wrestling History on the Gateway.) Also, sad that the main wrestling clip they feature on the WRAL 50th anniversary web page is not from WRAL at all. The Ric Flair interview they show with Bob Caudle (and part of the following angle with Piper) took place in WPCQ studios in Charlotte in 1982.

Click the early years and then videos and there is a Flair/Valentine beatdown of Roddy Piper.
