Believe Dorton is still there, right near the NCSU campus.
Only saw one JCP show there...

Dorton Arena still stands, my parents live in Raleigh and they went to some concert there a couple of weeks ago.
The Dorton Arena memories I have took place during the 1989-90 era. I was in Dorton Arena in 1989 when Cactus Jack made his NWA debut that night. Cactus and Sting feuded that night and both did an excellent job. The main event that night was Sting & Ric Flair vs. Great Muta and Lex Luger. Flyin Brian fought Norman the Lunatic that night as well. In 1990, I watched Luger wrestle Mean Mark Callous in Dorton Arena. Butch Reed and Ivan Koloff took on the Rock n Roll Express that night as well and the Steiners fought the Samoan Swat Team. And also Midnight Express vs. Brad Anderson and Brad Armstrong.
