On MA Gateway it lists Brute Bernard, Jay York winning the titles in Nov 73, but on wrestling-titles.com it says Dec. 4, 1973 looking at a calendar that date seems possible since it was a Tuesday night and that was the day of the shows there besides the Wed. TV taping
Any else got info?

As with all title histories, it is difficult to find definitive information. The best you can do is go by a preponderance of the evidence. We say on the the Gateway that we believe the date to be 11/3. It is a supposition based on the fact that this is the last recorded defense of the titles we can find until a Thanksgiving card in Charlotte on 11/22/73, which lists Bernard and York as champions. The clipping (which we will eventually have a copy of to post on the Gateway) lists Bernard and York as champions, having defeated Scott and Royal “weeks earlier”. Here is some other supporting information: 11/25/73 Salem VA lists York & Bernard as champions. 11/26/73 Greenville SC lists York & Bernard as winners over Royal & Scott in a title match 11/30/73 Lynchburg VA lists York & Bernard as champions defending against Johnny Weaver and Art Nelson. *Corrected From Earlier Post.12/1/73 Roanoke VA lists York & Bernard as champions So it’s clear from these newspaper reports that the title changed well before 12/4. Whether is was 11/3 or not is still subject to debate, to be determined by someone finding evidence of a change or even a match between the two teams after 11/3 in Roanoke and before Thanksgiving night 11/22 in Charlotte. What is always possible is that Bernard & York dropped them again on 12/2 or 12/3 and then regained them 12/4 in Charlotte. We hope to examine clippings from those few days to determine if that were a possibility, but at this point I would consider it highly unlikely. (As always, our thanks to Mark Eastridge for his invaluable assistance in researching Mid-Atlantic title histories.) Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Title Histories on the Gateway

11/30/73 Lynchburg Va, the title defense was against Art Nelson & Johnny Weaver, (sorry Baltimore Jack, guess I should have been a little more specific).
12/02/73 was a Sunday. I'm pretty sure Crockett Promotions wasn't running any regular Sunday shows then.
12/03/73 Greenville SC Return Mid Atlantic Tag Team Title Match, Brute Bernard & Jay York w/mgr Beauregarde vs Nelson Royal & Sandy Scott, Scott & Royal will have Johnny Weaver in their corner to keep Beauregarde from interfering. The results list a Double Disqualification, so the title didn't change hands on 12/03.
Hope this information helps. I'm looking forward to posting more here as time permits.

It is good to see you posting on the board clipcorner. You are right about Crockett Promotions not running Sunday shows during 1973.
