Two of the most important things to happen that summer in JCP was the arrival of Ole Anderson and Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson became the Atlantic Coast Tag Team Champions.
Prior to that time JCP had the version of the Southern Tag championship that was also recognized in Florida. Now they would have their own tag title.
Shortly after Ole Anderson arrived to join brothers Lars and Gene,Lars explained to Sailor Art Thomas just exactly what his brother Ole was going to do to him the following week on tv.When the match took place Art and Ole went through the usual tests of strength and then Art whipped Ole into the ropes and hoisted him into a bearhug. This resulted in a Anderson beatdown as only they could do.Ole was on his way to becoming a legend.

Looking through the huge results file that was posted on the KM board before it went down, one of Ole's first matches (and perhaps the first match) in the Mid-Atlantic was in Richmond on 6/14/68 against Jesse James. Looks like he wrestled in either mid-card singles matches that summer or in six man matches with Lars and Gene against Sailor Art Thomas and various partners as a result of the angle you mention.
In October, Ole and Gene first started teaming regularly, and the list of teams they wrestled over the next 4-6 months was like a who’s who in wrestling at the time:
George Becker and Johnny Weaver Paul Jones and Nelson Royal Mr. Wrestling and Sam Steamboat Missouri Mauler and Hiro Matsuda George and Sandy Scott Aldo Bogni & Bronco Lubich Swede Hanson and Rip Hawk
Heels, babyfaces….it didn’t matter to the Minnesota Wrecking Crew!!

If I recall, I think I read somewhere on the KM board that shortly after Ole debut in MACW, he returned to the AWA and wrestled a few matches as Al Rockowski and the went back to the MACW. Although the last AWA result I have of Rock was 1-31-68.

The first for JCP:

Hey cwh47, it took me a while, but I found what I was looking for. Ole returned to the AWA in late 1970. He wrestled under the name Al "Rock" Rogowski. He only returned to the Omaha part of the AWA, not Minnesota (I think).
cwh, do you have any MACW result for Ole for Nov. and Dec of 1970?

I remember a six-man tag at the old Winston-Salem Coliseum in the Summer of 1968 in which Lars, Gene, and Ole defeated Mr. Wrestling, Sam Steamboat, and, I believe, Nelson Royal in a 2-outta-three.
I remember Ole was very protected as he was just beginning to blend into the Anderson "family".
