Tim Woods taking off the mask....

What's the complete storyline behind him taking off the mask and going by revealing his name? I realize that he's passed away now but he was and always will be one of my favorites. How many remember when he and Sam Steamboat were a team?

I certainly remember Tim and Sam as a team in JCP (around 1968, I believe).

Can't remember why he took off the mask, but I remember why he put it back on.
