This is a great photo from 1978 of Blackjack Mulligan in front of the infamous van he mentions in his Mid-Atlantic Gateway interview and also on the "On The Ranch" interview DVD. He and Ric Flair owned this van together and it was their home away from home, burning up all those miles on all those highways in the Mid-Atlantic territory in the 1970s.
I sent the photo to Blackjack to confirm it was indeed the same van we've all heard and read about, and he confirmed it was. He also pointed out that he is wearing the hat that Willie Nelson gave him. This is the same hat Flair destroyed in the famous "Hat and Robe" angle in 1978.
Blackjack mentions the van in a promo several weeks after the Hat and Robe incidents, where he returns some of Flair's personal belongings. That angle and promo led to Flair agreeing to a match between the two, a program that did big business for Crockett Promotions for many months.
