I recall seeing Gene Anderson at a Greensboro house show in March 1983. He looked very weak. You could tell that his best years were behind him. Thanks for the comments on your Dad, Brad. I had no idea about the 1980 stroke.

Hey Brad, good seeing you again. Wasnt your Dad, working as I guess, a road agent with MACW between 81 and 84 in addition to wrestling? I know around 82ish, he was facing Jay Youngblood and Johnny Weaver alot in the midcards. Dogs

Thank you Greg and Bobby, I learned in a very hard way that if my personal demons, and one of my life's mistakes, gets made public. Through all the jokes, and negative talk about me, subsequently then there are the one's who were willing to stand by me; the entire person, and not judge the momentary picture taken of my life. I now know where I truly stand with people.
Dogs- Dad had always been in the "office" ever since I can remember-doing most everything at different times. He used to take me down there a lot, and that was how I got to know so many of the "boys". Most of the boys remember him in his later days for-Wednesday-Interview day" He was responsible for all the time slots for the TV shows that went out. So all the boys would be at the office around 10 am to shoot promos all day long. I used to go over and hang out as Dad was hollering "Piper next" then "that was the shits kid" with no delay "Flair next". He did the promos through the JCP-Ted Turner years until December 1990 when he was let go by new Dusty Rhodes Regime in W.C.W. Johnny Weaver got him a jop with the Sherriffs Dept. in Jan. 1991 where he spent the last 10 months of his life.

Brad - Did Johnny Weaver work in the Sheriff's Dept in 1990? I had no idea that your father was with WCW in the mid to late 1980s doing production work.

Brad, Here's one I just came across. It's not from the Mid Atlantic area, but I thought you might want it. 9/28/64 Eureka Ca "Colorful Red Bastien defeated Gene Anderson in the second exhibition in 13:39. Anderson continually pulling Bastien's hair who couldn't counter since Anderson had very short hair, but Bastien countered by continually pulling the loser's ears and finally won the fall with a body press."
