I was very sad to read that former great MACW Ref Sonny Fargo had lost both his legs due to diabetes. Does anyone know how he's doing lately?

I have not heard any recent news on Sonny Fargo, but he was in great spirits at the Charlotte Fanfest events, beginning with the first one back on Superbowl Weekend 2004. It was so great of Greg to have him there; he really seemed to be enjoying himself. I'll never forget the great reaction he got when he was brought out on stage. A huge grin on his face, it was a neat moment.

i was beside sonny at last years fanfest beside the stage....a lot of folks came up for an autograph. as he signed the last one, he told me he couldn't believe so many people remembered him. each fanfest has seemed like a blessing to him. i catch him with old friends talking...he looks like a kid in a candy store. happy.

Here's a pic I took with him at the last Charlotte Fanfest. Last I heard, he's doing well.

Does he have prosthetic legs or not?

I sure do remember Sonny Fargo next to Tommy Young he was the best ref ever in MACW. His trademark booming voice he used when trying to get a heel wrestler to break a hold was classic

I'm not sure, but I would say no.

Sonny is quite a character. He was in the biz so long he could look at a house ( like G'boro) or somewhere and tell you what the gate was. He and Jackie were over big time in Memhis. They are the ones that created the Fargo Strut that so many have tried to copy. I wish him all the best!
