Two comments - Rick Steamboat looks so young in that pic. Secondly, why are they showing Gene Anderson if Ole Anderson is battling Ric Flair?

You're probably looking at the pic of Dino Bravo, thinking that was Steamboat. As far as the Anderson snafu, I've seen similar mistakes many times in old clippings. Remember, in those days, Charlotte was running weekly. And you'd always see the same pics in the ads. I suspect that the newspaper folks were just given the lineups and allowed to create the ads without being proofed. Thus, the occasional picture snafu and some funny misspellings sometimes (especially when new guys came into the territory.)

Some of those old clippings and posters could be pretty funny. Some of the pictures were really old. Ric Flair's picture was usually old on the poster I remeber seeing for Roanoke & Lynchburg and he had on huge sunglasses from when he first arrived in the area. No real rhyme or reason to which wrestlers pictures were used either. Some of the older wrestlers like Swede Hanson would be pictured and he hadn't been in a main event for years, while most of the guys headlining weren't pictured.

Wow. Now that I look at him, it does look like the late Dino Bravo and not Rick Steamboat.
I recall seeing those posters of Flair with the big glasses.

George "Two Ton" Harris vs. Tully Blanchard..... I would have loved to have seen that match! Tully just getting started, Two Ton winding down a great career. This is a great clipping and a great show, and I love the name of the venue! Anyone have any photos of the outside of Crockett Park? That is a funny old photo of the Nature Boy.

Tully Blanchard was probably 19 years old in 1977. What year was Tully born? He played football at West Texas State University in the 1970s, I think. He won the Southwest TV Title in 1978 when he beat Al Madril.
