Why is Georgia pictured on the Mid-Atlantic belt when the MACW territory was Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina???

The held cards in Savannah. About the same time that the new belt appeared with Georgia on a plate, it was added to the graphic along with West Virginia on TV.

On the final version of the opening to the Mid-Atlantic TV show in the mid-80s, the states also included Florida and Tennessee.

I always forget about that opening, even when I watch tapes with it, I just don't remember it.

So JCP was WV, VA, NC, SC, GA, TN, and FL??? What about Mid-Southern? Championship Wrestling from Florida? Georgia Championship Wrestling?

All it probably means is that Crockett ran at least one town in those states on the periphery of the main territory, which was always The Caolinas and Virginia. For example, Savannah GA mentioned above was promoted by the Crocketts, often working with the Atlanta office. Crockett ran Kingsport TN and then later Johnson City TN (both in the upper northeastern point of Tennessee) off Bristol VA TV beginning in 1978. They also ran Bluefield WVA in southern West Virginia off TV in Bristol and Roanoke VA. Not sure what they regularly ran in Florida until the mid-80s, but Mid-Atlantic TV apparently aired in a few Florida markets at least as early as 1983. Paul Jones and Dory Funk Jr. allude to this during an interview on the 3/83 Mid-Atlantic show that WWE aired on WWE 24/7 last year. Mid-Southern?? That was a term used in the "Apter-mags" that no one else but them used to describe the Memphis territory. I've never known why, but it always seemed silly (and needless) to me. Haven't heard that in awhile.

Yes, the Mid-Southern territory was Memphis, TN as well as Evansville, IN and Louisville, KY, I think.
Did they use the Brushfork Armory for Bluefield, WV house shows in the early 1980s? I know that Lex Luger beat Michael Hayes there in the 1989 or 1990 to regain the US Title.
