There is a lot of competition in the tag team ranks from that time. I think there are a number of teams you could number any way and be right or wrong, they are all that close. But here is my honest opinion...
1. Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane
2. Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson
3. Ivan Koloff & Nikita Koloff
4. Ole and Arn Anderson
5. Rock n Roll Express
6. Bobby Eaton & Dennis COndrey
7. Road Warriors
8. Raging Bull Manny Fernandez & Ravishing Rick Rude
9. Lex Luger & Sting
10. The Superpowers (Dusty Rhodes & Nikita Koloff)

Who could complain about that list, krusherkoxx. Those are some of the greatest teams ever. If the "JCP era" is the time period defined by this particular forum (1974-1986), that's a pretty good list. The obvious ommision (from my point of view) is Wahoo McDaniel and Paul Jones. Other 70s teams that might deserve consideration for the top 10: Paul Jones & Baron Von Raschke Ray Stevens & Jimmy Snuka Greg Valentine & Ric Flair Greg Valentine & Baron Von Raschke Paul Jones & Ricky Steamboat In my opinion, these lists presented so far are wieghted way to much on the mid-80s, but that may have to do with the realtive youth of the young whipper-snappers making the lists compared to us some of us old farts! But when you really get down to it, there was Gene and Ole Anderson, and then there was everybody else!

I seriously considered putting the Flair/Valentine team in, but IMO, I thought that the Flair/Johnny Valentine team was better to watch then the Flair/Greg Valentine team. I thought that Greg was just a younger version of Johnny, which, is more then likely THE understatement of the year! I could have also put the Briscoes on that list, and several others, including The Masked Superstar and Paul Jones due to the fact that I am a huge Superstar fan, but digressed in doing so. Fact is, there were MANY teams that could be on this list, and it's a shame that the majority of those teams are hardly ever mentioned.
On a side note, I miss the days of tag team wrestling where the main principals are an ACTUAL team, not just a foursome of single stars "tagging up".
