Has there been a actual Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame anywhere before?
Do You think that an actual Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame would work? I am talking a Bldg, not just a website or DVD Program. An actual Bldg where fans & Wrestlers alike could go in and look around at all of the memorabilia like the Rock & Roll HOF and the Pro Football HOF.
I think it could work and would do well. AS long as you offer lots of memorabilia and keep it fresh with autograph signings and actual events.
Hey if KISS can open a Koffee House in Myrtle Beach, I think I should be able to open the first Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. I just want to make sure that it would outlast the KISS KOFFEE HOUSE.
Please share your thoughts and concerns about this.
Thanks

Of Course, if it WAS in Myrtle Beach or anywhere in the Carolinas' Ric Flair WOULD be on the TOP of the VIP List for Opening Day.
Flair and Ricky Steamboat attended the Grand Opening of the Hard Rock Cafe here 10 years ago.

If you are talking about a fan-friendly interactive Hall of Fame like the NFL has in Canton, then no, I don't think there is such a place. The Trago/Thesz Hall Wrestling Hall of Fame may offer some things like that, I'm not sure. The other Hall that seems to be treated as a legit HOF by people in the business is the Wrestling Observer HOF.
I don't like these things for wrestling, because wrestling styles varied so significantly over different time periods and different territories. Wrestling continues to evolve into different forms over the passing years, unlike football or baseball which stay basically the same (with the obvious rules changes, etc.) Wrestling has no official records, nor does it have consistent standards or ways to measure performance or excellence. It's all subjective and subject to how fans were educated in each territory and today, how they are educated by the WWE or TNA.
So the current Halls, in my opinion, are in their own way as subjective as any HOF that someone else might start, except with a few like those mentioned above make sincere efforts to develop and stand by their own firm criteria, subjective as they still might be.

How about Halls - NWA - AWA - WWF/WWE - Lucha Libre - Japan
Dedicate it to the History of the sport as a whole and then focus on the History & Differences in each group.
Look at Rock N Roll and all of the styles it reps. Wrestling is not much different in that aspect.
As for the education of the fan, I agree, that could be a problem for some true MARKS that think Wrestling and Santa Claus is Real. But it could help everyone become a true "Educated" wrestling fan.
Thanks for your input

Is this an actual PLACE or just online? Or is it that they are trying to make it into an actual Hall? Thanks for that, I will contact them.

As stated THE Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame located in Amsterdam , NY is in my opinion the real wrestling Hall of Fame. It includes wrestlers of all eras and territories. It includes midgets, Women and nonpartipants (promoters, broadcasters, etc) The museum is in the infant stages but has many fine pieces of memorabilia. This year Ric Flair will be inducted along with Johnny Valentine, Pat Patterson & Ray Stevens, Bobby Heenan and many others. I attended last years inductions and plan to go every year. It was a great reunion of old wrestlers and some friends I haven't seen in 25 years (Tom Burke, Tom Roberts, etc) A who's who of wrestling history attend from fans, wrestlers, media, etc. If you are a fan of wrestling you need to attend.

I was fortunate to attend both Amsterdam PWHF and the Lou Thesz/George Tragos Wrestling Museum in Newton, Iowa. Both are legitimate and recognized by Cauliflower Alley Club. Incidentally Ric Flair, Bobby Heenan, and Pat Patterson among others will be inducted into the Amsterdam PWHF in May.
