Baltomore Jack and I have discussed this match several
times over the past couple of years.My original belief
was that it took place during the second half of 1974 on
WGHP before Charlie Harville left.
Super Destroyer refused to put up his mask because
Paul Jones had just lost the TV Title.The match ends
with the Super Destroyer applying the claw and Paul
Jones backs Super Destroyer in to the ropes for a
monkey flip.Paul's knees are on Destroyer's shoulders
for the three count with Destroyer maintaining the
claw. Paul Jones scored a clean pinfall over the
Super Destroyer.
Last Friday night when were riding down to Statesville,
Baltimore Jack surprised me with the audio from this
match.I was amazed that he had found this.The match
did air on WGHP but it was early 1975.Les Thatcher
was the host of that version of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling.
His co-host that night was Sonny King.
