a heel or a baby face? I started following wrestling in '85 when he'd turned heel so I never saw him as a face until he feuded with Terry Funk in '89.

In my humble opinion I would say he was a better draw as a heel. The reason I say this is because I feel that more people will pay to see the heel get his butt kicked or lose the belt than they will to see a babyface get their butt kicked or try to hang on to the belt. But that is just my opinion.

I would say either. Flair did and still does put people in the seats no matter which side of the fence he is on. He is the only reason I even watch the product out there today. Just listen to the fans on Monday Night's, they still love the Nature Boy!

hi there,
I personally love his work as a heel. I just finished his book last night and this is basically what I've concluded:
-Dusty's screwed with him his entire career despite Flair wanting to be like him. -Eric Bischoff and himself will never ever get along -RF doesn't forget his friends, and holds regret for missing Wahoo's funeral -Was completely miserable his last few years at WCW...and remembering he got buried in the sand, he's completely right. -Hogan sells out for money and will stab anyone in the back to protect his spot
I found a old tape last night of him on NITRO and he was doing a promo and having to face DDP, Goldberg and Hulk Hogan--and though this is probably during the depression years of his career....he still had the rhythm to "talk shop" and then turn to a fan and go "you shut up kid!" - it was amazing. I think Flair can work unconcious.
I want to disclaim that I am from Flair country, however, I have even more respect for him for his history in the sport and though I disagree w/ him about Bret and Foley, Flair's legacy I don't question whatsoever. I hope he's been able to keep his word and be there for his family more in these later years.
Best,
Bambi Weavil
