If you live in Virginia and are a fan of the "Old School" Mid Atlantic Wrestling era, you'll want to read the huge article in the March issue of Virginia Living magazine. It just hit the newstands this week.
The author, Don Harrison did an excellent job capturing the excitement of that era. Plus, the interviews, photos and graphics are excellent too.

Somedays I wish I lived in Virginia or NC! Then again, I love the snow days from school here in Maine. I am wondering if there is any place on the net to purchase this?

Go to www.virginialiving.com - don't know if this will help, but under the "contact us" tab, it has an address and phone #. Maybe single issue could be purchased by contacting them??

Here is the cover off their site. If you look closely, you'll see "Mid-Atlantic Wrestling" across the top of the cover. Haven't gotten my hands on this yet, but will be soon!

I just noticed that to the left of "Mid-Atlantic Wrestling" it says "Our Native Chiefs"......
I wonder if that's a special feature on Wahoo??!! ;D

Phinney, Books- A- Million or Barnes & Noble can order it for you if they don't have it in stock. It's a must read.

Just recently got my copy of the magazine, and they did do a great job. Gateway was proud to participate and it's part of the effort to keep this stuff alive. The author, Don Harrison, had a similar goal and it really comes across in his exceptional writing. Here is a little collage that will be on the Gateway later in the week.

I picked up a copy last Wednesday at Barnes & Noble in Christiansburg, VA. They still had a few copies left. Great read! Looking forward to seeing more 1970s and 1980s legends at house shows in Virginia and North Carolina in the coming months.

I'm not quite in Roanoke, live in Altavista, but attended many shows in the Roanoke Civic Center starting in 1977.
Picked up my copy of the magazine at Barnes & Noble in Lynchburg after work last week.

We've gotten several e-mails at the Gateway asking how someone can mail order the magazine.
According to editor, people can send $5 to:
Virginia Living Magazine Attn: Sarah Spain The Dietz Building 109 East Cary Street Richmond, VA 23220
Be sure to specify the April 2005 issue of Virginia Living magazine, and let them know you want it for the Mid-Atlantic wrestling article so they can see they made a good decision to publish this article.
Very rare that such a mainstream publication (and a pretty high-brow one as well) would do a story like this. Hats off to author Don Harrison for selling them on this idea.

Baltimore Jack is right. Be sure to mention the Mid Atlantic Wrestling story if ordering direct from the publisher. This may help revitalize "Old School Wrestling" throughout the Mid Atlantic.
