Today, Benoit is one of the better wrestlers, but is he realistic? Can you watch him wrestle and believe? How about a guy like Brian Danielson? Some of the Ring of Honor matches rank right up there with the old days as long as they don't flop around too much.
Christopher Daniels is a great wrestler, Mike Sanders is a guy that could of made it in JCP, but can't seem to catch a break today. Lo-Ki? He's a great wrestler. Why can't anybody use him? I bet Ole Anderson could come up with angles for all of them.

QUOTE If Triple H was a face, I'd draw a comparison between he and Rhodes (for obvious reasons ), but he has sort of become the modern day Nature Boy. UNQUOTE Whaddya mean the modern day Nature Boy? ?? That bum couldn't carry The Man's robe much less the biggest gold of all. Too much like Hollywood for the tastes of an old-guard Naitch fan. Modern day Nature Boy? Good grief!!!!!!!!!

RMBallpark, I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers! I'm just saying that Triple H has become (largely due to his marriage to the boss's daughter) the man to beat in WWE. The comparison that I'm drawing is that much like Flair, whenever Triple H loses the title, everyone knows he's gonna win it back at some point, because like it or not (and I don't) he's the top guy, the guy to carry the show.

Without a doubt it would be Chris Benoit. I truly believe that even though Kurt Angle is an Olympic gold medallist that Benoit is the better wrestler. A great match would be Benoit and Steamboat against Jones and Superstar. Or Benoit vs Brisco. Or Benoit Vs. Flair when Flair was in his prime.

I think that 90 percent of the guys out today would be laughed out of most MACW buildings. The total lack of psychology they have is crazy bad.
While I believe some guys around today are talented enough to have learned the ways if they had come around back in the day (Christian, Edge, Styles, Daniels) they couldn't make it as they are today.
Kurt Angle would make a great heel or face in the Brisco type role.
Benoit would make a great Anderson-esque heel. I would LOVE to have seen Ole get his hands on him early and take him under his wing.
Jericho could get the job done in the tag scene, and could compete in territories that had a focus on the Jr. Division. I dunno if he could be anything more than a popular mid-carder on his own tho.
HHH is one of the best heels I've ever seen. Forget the politics, and kayfabe breakage, the guy has Top of The Card 70's 80's heel down to a science. I think he would have been very much like Harley Race and much more appreciated in the 80's.
I think Shawn Micheals could do Ricky Morton as well or better than Ricky Morton, as long as he left the "30 minutes into a match knip up" out of his routine.
Charlie Haas, Eddie Gurrero, and Shelton Benjamin could also be great in the 80's, territorial system. I bet Haas could have gotten over like an Anderson, and even possibly taken on the name if he can grow facial hair.
Peace Jeff

I don't think any modern wrestlers would fit in with JCP. No one could draw heat like the Midnight Express or get the fans behind them like Dusty or Magnum. Ring psychology is over and done. I haven't seen anyone who could work the crowd in years. The business has changed and the audience has changed. I miss the good ol' days.

As to the post about Triple h being the modern day Ric flair. I must throw in my 2 cents worth here. Triple H works every monday and every PPV and maybe a big house show once in a while like MSG. But that is it. He has wrestled the same guys over and over and over for the last 4 years. Ric flair work more matches than there are days in year. A typical month might see in Portland wrestling Billy jack haynes or Buddy Rose working as a face or heel then shoot down to dallas and take on 1 of the von erich's and make them look unstoppable then the next night in Ft worth it might be Chris Adams or Gino Hernadez again heel or face. Then flair would dance over to Memphis and battle Lawler or Dundee then head over to Mid south and battle Butch Reed or ted Diebise. Then jump down to Flordia and battle either Rhodes funks Brisko Windham or Grahm . Then over to Alabma to battle to Fuller's or wendel cooley Then over St louis where he may face Harley Race 1 night and Brusiser Brody the next. Then shoot over to Ga and battle Tommy Rich or Mike Hayes then back home to the carolinas to battle steamer piper wahoo blanchard rhoes ta koloff who ever. And all the while he kept his title and made the other look like a million bucks. Also he was doing tv tapings 2 or 3 a day for each stop. Lets not forget his tours of japan or his title vs title matches against Martel and Backland. It might be as a face against Valantine or Patera 1 night and the next as the heel against windham or von erich. triple H should not even be mentioned in same breathj as any real NWA WOLD CHAMp and i do not transitional champs like garvin or hodes or Rich or BABA. I mean Thesz Funk Jr Rogers FLair Terry Funk Race Brisko Kiniski now these guys could go they were what wrestling stood for and still stands for in my heart. Up until around 1985 Ric Flair probably logged more miles than any human alive and each night brought a diffrent challenge in a diffrent town and it was not always the Diebise or david Von Erich or barry Windhams or Race or Steamboats he had to make look good guys like JYD or Gulas or Kerry were all awful but were made to seem as real threats to Ric 's title WHY??? Because the Nature boy was that damn good. It was a sad day when crockett handed rhodes the book and run every real wrestler out of the area men like Steamboat Piper Valantine Brisko Funk heck he even ran guys like rOn ritchie and Charlie Fulton and Ben Alexander Bill White out of the area. Rhodes killed it and crockett stood by and let it happen Triple H should be compared to ole bluber But DUSTY RHODES

I don't know if any wrestler currently can bring back the greatness that was MACW. However, I'd like to put a spin on things. Instead of saying which modern wrestlers would fit in JCP, I'm going to list wrestlers I think could have fit in, due largely to their similarity with wrestlers that came through JCP. Rico with Jackie Gayda----they had the same gimmick as the Exotic Adrian Street and his valet Tajiri---spits the same green mist and spins the same as The Great Kabuki Viscera-- kind of a cross between Bad Leroy Brown and Rufus R. Jones

I would think the guys who would do well today would be William Regal, Taijiri (good oriental heel), Eddie Gurerro the others mentioned earlier, I don't know if they would be good. I think they all would cry like a bitch the first time they did a hardway injury angle. In Piper's book he talked about getting worked over by valentine. They made it look real bad with sandpaper, ouch. Piper's book is a little teadious though. Too much bragging and sour grapes.
