Shooting in Joplin

As many of you know I live in Joplin, Mo. with my 2 daughters.
You will see on the news today about a young man who went into Memorial Middle School and fired one shoot from an AK47. My daughter attends this school. In fact, I dropped her off about 4 minutes after the student shot into the ceiling and hit a water pipe. We are all OK. Just a little shaken up after the ordeal.
Please pray for this young man who was so obviously begging for help. Otherwise, why he did beg the Principal and administrators to "Not make me do this" and shot into the ceiling rather than shooting the people who were lined up in front of him..?
My daughter feels sorry for the kid because he was a very small boy about 5'3" and all of 100lbs and the cops beat him before putting him in the squad car. He did try and fight the officers but he is only13 yrs old and 100lbs compared to trained 200+ lb grown men.
Just thought all of you might want to know, since many of you know we live in Joplin

He was a small boy with an AK47 !!! Maybe if a few more of these kids got a good beating now and then, we wouldn't have them shooting up the schools. (Now I'm starting to sound like my father. )

Maybe like you said if parents gave the beatings there would be no need for cops to give beatings.

Study just came out that successful business people got whipped. Said that it was making child psychologists cringe cause it was the exact opposite of what they had been saying for years.
I spanked my kids. Had to -- had to keep them from killing themselves or their sister.
When I did though it made me feel really bad. Not that I spanked them. Oh No.
They ganged up on me. The one that didn't get spanked would become my enemy cause she would defend her sister no matter what. Yeah, two little monsters planning their revenge.

I have three sons and I know where you are coming from there. I use grounding more these days as they are a little big to be spanking. My 16 year old son is a huge wrestling fan and he is 6 foot 2 inches 165 pounds. The last time he got a spanking he was 10. Grounding seems to be very effective with them these days. But there are still some things I would put foot to butt to if I felt like it were needed.
