Glad to see you on the board here, Baby Doll. Is it true that there was "heat" on you behind the scenes, from Dusty Rhodes, because you were married to Sam Houston? Thanks in advance.

Yes, Dusty did not approve of the relationship that Sam and I had. Funny thing is that he is the one that put us together in the first place. When Tully lost the TV Title and me in the cage match I was supposed to be with Dusty and travel with him exclusivly for 30 days. Kinda hard to do since Dusty had a 2 seat red convertible Mercedes, Magnum had the Porsche so there was no room for Baby Doll so they called in Sam to the rescue. Well, travelling down the road we hit it off. We got to talking about our families and found out how much we had in common. One thing led to another and we were married one year from the date of our first kiss, July 30, 1986. Griz( Sam's Dad) told me that Dusty personally called him and asked Griz to speak to Sam and call off the wedding. They wanted me to be a Marilyn Monroe type figure, but if I remember MM was married like three times...

I heard Sam had a brush with the law recently but does he still wrestle on occasion?

I heard Sam had a brush with the law recently but does he still wrestle on occasion? I have not heard of anything recent. The last that I had heard was he was living with his Dad, Griz, down around the Hammond- Baton Rouge area. He had gotten a stiff sentence about a year ago but it was reduced because of the lack of jail space after Hurricane Katrina. |
