Just wondering what you guys thought.........You think they'll ever bring back Wrestling to the Dorton Arena?......Promotions such as Live Action Wrestling, Southern Championship Wrestling (i think this is Grog's) and maybe Ultimate Championship Wrestling would be wonderful there but these are high hope's for me...............

Well HH, you know more about promoting than I do, but I think Dorton Arena is a perfect place for wrestling. Keeping in mind that the current ownership also runs several other venues in the same complex, I am sure Dorton is probably not top of mind. But with the Hurricanes flown the coop for the year, and one of rbc's biggest clients gone... ya never know.
I agree with Bobby... somebody will put wrestling there again.

I live in Raleigh and I don't know that there will be a call for wrestling to return to Dorton Arena. WWE now comes to the RBC CEnter and even held Summerslam there in 2000. I don't see wrestling returning to Dorton Arena anytime soon. Unfortunate, but that is the way it looks to me.

Well, seein as it was my old stomping grounds I wish it would come back to Dorton. Had a lot of fun on a lotta Toosday nights up there.

To my knowledge, grog shut down scw, so that one's out. I would love to see an indie build a strong enough fan base to be able to book dorton arena. I would be there for every show just for the nostalgia. I really miss the "good ol' days." Even though i do watch wwe now and I appreciate what those guys do to entertain the fans, there will always be a part of me that hates Vince for consuming the entire business. And for contributing to the current state of the business that makes it extremely difficult for indies to thrive.

Eventually someone will. Its not that overly expensive to rent it out. You might have to work with a second party to do it...but it can be done.
I too would like to see a good indy group that would be an alternative to the WWE and book regularly throughout the old MACW area.
