I'm going to be flying from Pittsburgh to Charlotte for fanfest. I have only flown twice in my life and I have never made the arrangements. Can someone please give me their opinion on the best way to go.
Thanks...

i tried orbitz and travelocity for something last week. then i went ahead and booked (online) directly with the airline. smart? i don't know, but that's what i did. the airport's not too far from the hotel. just a few miles up the interstate.

I agree with Bobby try orbitz to get the best rate then go to the airline and book
a good priced flight should cost you no more then 180.00

Shop around now, the prices will go up the longer you wait. I always check the budget carrier's sites first (depending if they fly out of Pitts/ to Char). Sometimes they offer internet only deals. www.airtran.comwww.jetblue.comwww.southwest.com The last few times I got a good deal on Priceline (without naming a price). They have the website set up now where you can see the prices and flights. They were cheaper than Orbitz and Travelosity. But also check those sites. I always got the lowest price on Hotwire, but with that site you can't pick the flight times or carrier. You just type in morning, afternoon or evening flight. If you're not concerned with what time you you leave, arrive or layovers, I'd do Hotwire. I used Hotwire many times, in some cases I saved $100 over Orbitz, Travelosity, Priceline or any carrier's site. When I went to Europe all of those sites wanted $800+, I ended up getting my tickets for $450 on Hotwire. good luck
