What I don't get is WWE still dealing with people who have sued them. It seems like they go , "here's the settlement" , "would you sign our legends contract now please?" Why do they put up a fight against people they wanna do business with?

Why do they put up a fight against people they wanna do business with? Who specifically are you talking about? I can only relate my personal experience; just last week, I was finally able to settle with WWE on the advance money/travel expenses for Superstar Billy Graham for the most recent fanfest he no-showed. For most folks, that would seem like a simple thing. Just refund me the money we'd paid in advance. But I found out it wasn't so easy. I truly believe that because WWE is so huge, you may get any number of reactions depending on who you're dealing with. For instance, in my situation, I had WWE lawyers wanting me to sign a release that said I'd already received money when I hadn't, and also wanting me to sign away rights to EVER sue them for ANYTHING since the "beginning of time" (yes that's the way it was worded,) and for eternity. I stood my ground, refused to sign anything and, after two months of haggling and being made to jump through hoops, I finally went straight to the #2 man who apologized for the things others were putting me through and had my check mailed the same day. So to get back to my original point, yes, I think there are people within the WWE structure that want to "play" with you as much as they can, just because they can. Others, though, like John Laurinaitis, are straight-up honest and I have a lot of personal respect for.

i worded it kind of oddly. What I meant is , say I sue WWE and I am a star like Warrior or whomever , why do they still have interest in doing a legends contract with me for figures and such if I sued them , much less if I won. Why would they still want to make my figure???

If I may add my 2 cents here. There are two types of contracts for the legends. One is a "WWE Legends Contract" and the other is a contract with Jakks.
The WWE legends contract is specifically with WWE. For instance, Jim Duggan, Kamala, and (up until a couple months ago) Jake Roberts all signed "Legends Contracts." This means that they are used for appearances to promotoe the legends programs.
The Jakks contract is strictly with the Jakks company. Jakks has the contract with WWE to produce any number of legends/current star figures at their discretion. Just because a superstar has a legends figure doesn't mean they are immediately affiliated with WWE. In reality, some of them are only affiliated with Jakks.

Bret, Bruno, and Warrior are good examples of that. Honky may be yet another example soon. However, Vince can stop Jakks from making anyone. For instance Jakks was trying to negotiate with Savage but Vince didn't let that happen. This only fueled those *ahem* "rumors" since he even let Warrior and Bruno sign with Jakks.

Why does Vince have beef with Randy Savage?

i would answer your initial question by saying that even though the WWE and talent had a bad court battle in the past, whether the WWE can make money off that person or not is irrelevant. as long as that talent is signed on a legends deal, they are, or can be, monopolilzed talent. nobody can make money off them except the WWE. and if the WWE allows someone else to make money off that talent, the WWE gets their cut.

WWE legends deals does allow wrestlers to work elsewhere. For instance Jake Roberts and Bobby Heenan both worked for TNA.
Vince seems to hate Savage. You can believe the Internet urban legend, or you can formulate your own theory.
