Superstar ----- What is your gym routene like? Do you still lift weights? How often? Do you ever get burned out from the gym and miss a week or so? I try to lift 3-4 times a week but I get tired of it! ----- Doug Meyers, Rockford, Il.

Doug, I must admit I did get burned out and with very little time it was easy to stop. I went for a period of four or five years without working out but I felt sloppy and miserable. I began very easily to get back into working out. I had so many injuries to my hands that I found it difficult to lift weights like I used to. My wife convinced me to purchase a "Total Gym" and I really like it. It gives me the flexability I need. I usually get about a 1/2 hour workout four days per week sometimes five each week (depending on timeI have and if the honey do list isn't too large). I feel better and mentally I think that is important. I know that I will never want to go back to heavy lifting but slowly I feel I will be able to get to the medium weights again.

Mr. Eadie -- Im sorry to keep bothering you but I thought of something else that I "MUST KNOW". You know how it is. Anyway, in the late 80s WWF during your DEMOLITION run, how often did you get to the gym considering the hectic travel schedule?! Did you ever miss gym time or take time off during this period?? Thank you, sir, for answering your fans like this! It means alot because you sure dont have to take time out and do this. --- Doug Meyers

We made it part of our daily work schedule to be in the Gym at least five times per week for one and a half to two hours. We only took time off when we were home but still then only a few days. It was part of our job to do that , plus I felt working out helped us to recover from the hectic schedule.
We weren't special some spent more time but that was what we felt we needed.

Mr. Eadie -- When you wrestle as Ax today, do you still wear the original studded vest & boots that Ax wore in the WWF??

An extension to Doug's question here is that with the hectic WWE schedule at that time, do you work out at that scheduled city/town's local gym or does the WWE provide some sort of on-the-road gym-type facility (which I think was unlikely)? I imagine there are times you cannot access your own favorite gym if you are working across the country. I hope you understand my question here. Because I imagine the WWE would have provided some accommodations in this regard for wrestlers to get their workouts. Otherwise thats a lot of gym locations all over the U.S. to remember for a wrestler!

Most cities that we went to all had very good gyms. Even small towns have good gyms.
No the company didn't provide workouts that's on your own. We tried to stay in areas that had good gyms, hotels, places to eat, etc. makes life on the road much easier. You need every little bit of help you can get when away from home that much.
