I am an indy wrestler in Texas, and was looking at masks. Well being a fan of Superstar from back in the Georgia days(especially the Wrestling 2 feud) that mask jumped out at me. I guess my question is this. If you saw an indy guy in one of your masks, would you consider that as a compliment, or as disrespectfull? I never thought about this topic before, because I have always used original ideas. Thanks

I can tell you a quick story relating to your question. When Superstar was in Ga. and was red hot with heat some young guy comes in the dressing room with a mask identical to Superstars. I think this kids name was Buck Brannigan or something like that...anyway Bill ( Superstar) took one look at him and told him in a very nice way.." Take that mask off or I'll do it for you"! The guy took the mask off and left the studio and was never heard from again. I might add that Bill Eadie is a true pro and always protected the guy he was working with. It was great working with him in Ga. and jcp As far as your question goes...I would seek approval from Superstar before I wore one of his masks.

I probably could have worded my question better, I don't want to wear the mask, or any mask at this time.. ;D I just thought it funny that so many places sell these as for "pro" use. I have seen a few guys around using masks that I recognized as old Spoiler style, or Grappler style masks. But I still appreciate the post, and enjoyed the story as well.

Many times I hear that sonmeone has purchased a mask of mine or made by one of the various companies and is wearing it. I would like to feel the fans would be able to recognize the original Masked Superstar when they see him. Iof course can't police the whole country.
I do remember that incident with Brannigan. REMEMBER That was how I made my living and I crtainly wasn't going to let someone else use it for folly. Come to think of it I haven't heard of him either. Must not have been too smart to come into the same dressing room in same territory and expect me not to say something. That may have been sign of his limited ability and mental capacity.

Thanks for responding. That was just something that crossed my mind while looking through all the masks and such. I would hope that people could pay tribute to guys like yourself and others in better ways than trying to steal your gimmick...
