Why doesn't it list anything about a Superstar figure? Are they only doing an Ax? That would be disappointing...

From my discussions and understanding they willl be making a Masked Superstar figure. They may or may not announce it at this time. I am looking forward to it myself.

The site linked to in the first post is just taking the news from Jeremy Padawar's (of Jakks) blog. He was updating brief news and said "Ax is a go," simply because the majority of the readership of that blog are younger fans who would know the name Ax before "Masked Superstar" or even saying Mr. Eadie's name.
Jakks, when dealing with a star, will make a figure of each wrestling persona the person had. For example, when they signed Charles Wright they made Papa Shango, The Godfather, and a Kama figure is on it's way. Similarly, Jakks has said that both Smash and Repo Man figures will be produced. And to get REALLY technical, both Iron Sheik AND Colonel Mustafa figures have been made.
I wouldn't worry, Jakks realizes how huge this line is and the need to have the biggest stars in it.

True but Masked Superstar can’t really be compared to these examples. All the above characters you mentioned were in WWE/WWF, yet Masked Superstar was not. But yea Jeremy said Ax because that’s who most people know. Doesn’t mean there won’t be a Masked Superstar figure.

Masked Superstar was in fact in the WWF in 1983-1984.

Really? Guess that's some wrestling history that slipped by me.

Majorly slipped. He was a top challenger for the WWF title at the time.
Lawler and the soon to be released Harley Race were not designed on WWF looks, either. And Sabu's hardly had a notable WWF career...

Yes that would be fun. As far as the history lesson, I am amazed at the insight the fans on this forum and others have. Perhaps you will need to contact the Jakks personnel and remind them. But from what I was told they will be coming out with a Superstar figure.
Again thanks so much for all of your support and the contact information. I really enjoy the interaction with you all.

I would love to see the pix of the resin figures as well, send them along! Superstar was involved in one of the best angles ever set up by the WWF in the 80's in 1983 when he entered the Fed and immediately put Eddie Gilbert our of commission with repeated nexk-breakers on the concrete floor, thus setting up his WWF championship angle with champion Bob Backlund who was portrayed as a mentor to Gilbert at the time. Superstar even beat Backlund at MSG by a countout (with a neck breaker on the concrete floor) in November 1983, Bob's last title defense there before losing the belt to the Iron Shiek the following month.
