Hello- new to the forum, but already enjoying it
Masked Superstar- let me start of saying that as a ten year old mark, you were the first wrestler who actually scared me. I was at Madison Square Garden the night you corkscrewed Backlund on the concrete, I really thought you had ended his career right there. So thank you for the perfomances and memories!
My question regards Tommy Rich. I know you worked with him a bunch of times in GA, what was he like to work with in the ring, and what did you think of him overall? Any good stories?
Thank again,
EA

Your very correct I had many matches with and against Tommy. Tommy at one time had the southern wrestling world in the palm of his hand. He was a very easy worker to have a nmatch with. I enjoyed being in the ring with and against him. He was of course a huge fan favorite and that made the matches easy too. Good solid down home soutrhern boy interview and put forth good effort in the ring.
Tommy ,if he would have put in some gym time , would have achieved much more than he did. He had a good carrer but I truly believe he would have done so much more with a little gym time. I really didn't hang out with Tommy. You must remember times and the business was much different back then. Bad guy's wouldn't be seen near a babyface.Wasn't permitted and could lose your job if the wrong person found out.
Sorry I don't have any stories about him.

I have a question...
You and King Kong Bundy beat the Road Warriors for the National Tag Team Championships and then I believe that they say that you had been injured and the belts were stripped away. My question is were they (the promotion) planning on giving you and Bundy a longer run with the titles, or was the title change just a spontaneous booking decision. And what was the real reason the belts were taken off of you and Bundy so soon considering that the Warriors were practically unbeatable at the time?
By the way, I think you are an outstanding guy and can't wait to meet you again at the fanfest in Rockville!

I really don't recall the match itself. I do remember the time frame. I would guess< I'm not certain > it was during the time I was going back and forth to Japan and it was simply a booking situation.Sorry !!!!I wasn't in the area at that time on a regualr basis. I was basically just working here between Japan dates.
Thanks for the comments and hope to see you as well.
