Question about MACW face turn

Mr. Eadie,
Can you speak a bit relative to your babyface turn in MACW in the early 80's while you were NWA TV Champ. You were so insulted by Gene Anderson's "Army" continuous interuptions of your interviews that you gave up the belt to get Paul Jones as your partner and go after Snuka/Stevens World Tag Titles. What I would like to know is who's idea that was and what was the motivation behind it? Why wouldn't they use you holding the belt to generate an angle with another face?

It was George Scott's decision. He felt that the fans were behind me and wanted to take advantage of that. Also I think he wanted me to be tagged with Paul.

George seemed to have a good read for the area and I felt it was his call. It worked out well. George was actualy responsable for establishing Superstar. He first approached me about the gimmick. He knew what he wanted and I certainly can't say he was wrong.
