I've long been confused on who exactly were the 1st wrestler or wrestler to incorporate music into their entrances Was it The Fabulous Freebirds? Jerry The King Lawler? Jimmy Valiant? or maybe Gorgeous George?
Who was the 1st in the busines to use entrance music?

Well Gorgeous George was a little before my time as a fan but,
I have read that he sometimes came out to "Pomp and
Circumstance".As for here in the Mid-Atlantic,I am going to
go with Leroy Brown coming out in 1981 to Jim Croce's "Bad,Bad,
Leroy Brown". Jimmy Valiant was wrestling as King James Valiant
at this time right before becoming the Boogie Man.

if i am not mistaken, wasn't it in november '81 when valiant returned with music? if i am right, then brown did come first.

but hadn't the Freebirds been coming out to Skynyrds' Freedbird in Georgia before that?

yeah. i was just referring to cwh's comment on the MACW area.
the freebirds may have used that song in MACW in '81 but i don't know. i recall a promo of them to fight the andersons in 7/81 at ernie shore field in winston-salem.
on 1/17/82 in greensboro, michael hayes-jimmy valiant came out to "we are family" as they fought terry gordy-austin idol, who came out to "freebird"...

The Freebirds may have used the music in Georgia before
Leroy Brown did it here.I did not have cable access at the time
so I only rarely got to see TBS if I happened to be visiting my
Dad on a Saturday night.

Not to tease, but we have the answer to the first wrestler to use entrance music in The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Heels, the book Greg Oliver and I did. It'll be out in May. It goes back to the 1930s.
The first tag team to use entrance music was The Fabulous Kangaroos in 1957.
