Andre The Giant Story

Ok I have no clue whether this is the right place to post this or not but here goes

I wanted to tell you all abou the 1st time I saw Andre the Giant on tv

The year was 1974 I was 7 let me 1st say I'm paralyzed from the waist down due to a birth defect and I rarely went out to see the action live

1 Saturday Afternoon I was watching promos on upcoming events in between tv matches. During this I see this poster of this guy. with long hair and towering over these skyscrapers

The announcer continued and then announced that the 8th wonder of the World Andre the Giant was coming to their town which I believe was Greensboro

Afterwards my mind began to wonder I'd never seen a guy that big in my life so naturally with a child's imagination and having seen this guy picture towering over skyscrapers I asked myself "How in the Heck is this guy going to get into the building and let alone into a ring to wrestling if he's that big?"

I laid in bed at night thinking of writing to Crockett promotions on ways to get him in the building

Finally about 2/3 weeks later I'm watching again and see the same poster this time there's a promo from Florida Championship Wrestling with Andre and Gordon Solie and much to my relief and somewhat surprise I discovered that the size on the poster was exaggerated

Those of you who knew of might've met Andre may find this amusing as also the rest of you I hope it did

That is a great story Jeff.That would have been Sept.1974.
Andre wrestled the Super Destroyer that night.Andre won by
dq when Super Destroyer threw powder in Andre's eyes.
