The Madison Square Garden network is showing old matches from the Garden on Wednesday nights. They showed the 11/30/91 Flair vs. Hogan match, which I believe was their first match in the Garden, and one of their early matches period, as they had first met in October of that year.
Great to see Ric Flair get a three count on Hogan, even if it was over turned shortly thereafter. Even though the crowd was probably 70-30 in favor of Hogan during the match, there was a HUGE pop when Flair pinned him, it just was so rare for anyone to get three on Hogan in those days.

I saw this match in person, in Richmond on December 29, 1991 (the day after my birthday) It drew one of the biggest crowds to the Coliseum for wrestling since Crockett had closed.
And when you mention the MSG crowd was 70/30 for Hogan, the Richmond crowd was that if not 80/20 for Flair. I'm sure they ran the same finish, where Flair used the knux to get the three count, and there was a hush for a few seconds, before the whole place just popped (myself included) I mean the bell rang, Flair's music played and he was announced as the winner, before a second ref came down ...and you can figure out where it went from there.
Nevermind the fact that this was a WWF show, but we got our money's worth that night, just to see the 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. And yes, I still have the ticket stub and the program.

Guys, I can't tell you how much I wish I could have seen that match. To see Flair in his home territory getting cheered against Hogan, to get that 1-2-3 (no matter hwo he did it) just sounds magic.
Flair loves Richmond anyway. That had to be a special night for him.

I have a fancam match I guess from San Francisco, the building is called the Cow Palace. I don't know of to many of them. They ran the same finish there also.
